Currently at lvl 13 scholar I can craft the 8 slot elm strongboxes for my bank inventory slots... I'm wondering, as you lvl up in crafting, does the number of slots for the elm strongboxes increase over time? If so, at what point does that increase occur and how high does the number of slots go?

As a scholar you do not get any new box recipes EVER. The old recipes from the artisan books never upgrade so use those 6-8 slotters while you save up cash to buy the better boxes from a carpenter.

PS: if you are looking to make some decent cash for your self later on go jeweler not sage. Avaerage char Jewelery slots= 6 plus scout types need the runes you make for their adepts. Compared to sage making app 4 spells for only two subclasses ie: healer/mage and that is it =(.

Thanks for the tips, Naitchil. I will take your advice on going scholar>jeweler. I wanted to specialize in jewelry w/ one of my toons and was actually planning on doing that with an alt but now that I know scholar goes to that, I'll be able to adjust my plan. Smiley: grin

Maybe now, I'll lead my 6 artisan down the path of carpenter... YEEHAW, PAW, SHE'S GOT A PLANNNNN Smiley: yippee

Another quick peice of advice.

DON'T GO CARPENTER.

Unless you like making your own furniture. Carpenter has only boxes as a secondary market.

You are better off going Tailor. As you can make very light/light armor and Backpacks for character use and bank storage.

Almost everything the carpenters make(furniture wise) can be bought, except for a few odd items, from merchants in the cities. This has been a BIG complaint on the carpenter boards on the main forums for.... well... since december....

I have to agree about the carpenter class... And now that I bit the bullet and purchased all the large capacity boxes I will ever need, I don't even mind not having made them!

When I was leveling up my craftsman, I picked woodworker and I have not been sorry. Unlike carpenters, we woodworkers make a wide variety of useful and saleable weapons, shields and other wooden items. And since we are craftsmen, we can also cook, (we get recipes for all the tier 2 food & drink). My cooking skill did cap out at 99 but I can cook for myself and my alts just fine at that level of ability.

Interesting points. I love my carpenter, second favorite after my provisioner. Since I have my own armorer, I make my own bars and studs and sheets and such, so my carpenter is relatively self sufficient. I'm going to level up an alchemist next, just so I can make my own WORTs.

I like being able to make large quantities of big boxes, so even my mules have good storage capacity. Plus my guild gets boxes too. And they sell decently fair, although after the offline selling went live it was crazy for a few days. Now its back to a box every day or two sold.

Hmmmmm... already at my relatively low level, I harvest so dadgum much, my inventory slots fill up fast. It's a real juggling act when I shuffle my inventory at the bank between harvests and things I want to hang on to. Hopefully I'll get enough coin soon to buy some really nice high capacity boxes for my bank, that would be nice.

The comment about craftsman piqued my interest because I have been using one of my alts to delve into cooking and I have been enjoying it thus far, and I also like the idea of being able to craft/sell weapons, shields, and FURNTURE woowoo Smiley: yippee. Some women obsess over shoes, my character obsesses on cool furnishings for the Inn room (hehe)... so maybe I'll follow suit and go craftsman/woodworker to satiate myself in multiple facets. THANKS!!
