The glowing harvests can all be refined into glowing extract which can be combined with various player made weapons and pieces of armor to create imbued items. Jewelery can also be imbued.

These imbued items offer an additional magical ability that is added to the item. This ability takes the form of a proc which is a 5% chance for something wonderful to happen, (like a heal or additional damage). Only a pristine item can be imbued.

At what point would you choose to use the glowing extract in your recipe, hoping for an imbued item? Is it a risk you take, by using it initially, hoping for a pristine item? (i'm guessing you probably wouldn't use this until you're sure you consistently make a particular pristine item, is this correct?)

The imbuing process is a secondary recipe involving the completed item and the glowing extract. u get a recipe for it like any other combine.

e.g. pristine forged iron chainmail tunic + glowing extract = pristine imbued iron chainmail tunic.

Not exactly... what you do is first craft a pristine item. Then in an additional combine you add the glowing extract to the pristine item and it becomes an imbued item. The risk comes in this final step since you must start out with pristine but could end up with a less than pristine imbued item if things went south on you!

The imbue recipes come in 2 flavors and all the books are sold by the trade skill merchant. One set of books covers the rare combines while the other set covers the "normal" combines.

So, if you want to make an imbued maple longbow you'll need one book but if you want to make an imbued bone longbow, you'll need a different book.

So far I have made imbued tanned leather armor, (normal), for my warden, and imbued bone weapons, both for sale and for my ranger. All have come out pristine so far. May that trend continue, (knock wood)!

Does anybody know which book has the recipe for Glowing Extract in it?

The glowing extract is from magical extract study 1-only level 10 scholars or higher can buy i believe.

So to clarify, if I make a Pristine Blackened Iron Long Sword I would have to buy an EXTRACT?

THen I would have a recipe to imbue the PBILS??? Do I have to Imbue immediately after I create or can ANY Pristine be Imbued?

I haven't seen the books for imbuing the items...
Where are they sold?

I also haven't seen any Extracts for sale on the bazaar... Are they that rare? Or are they being used as they're made?

I have seen the Glowing __X__ all listed at 1gp+...
I've managed to collect 11 of these various Glowing __X__ items... Haven't sold them yet thinking they might be useful. (I have the Dwarven Workboots Quest, invariably I end up with some rares... 100 severed maple + 100 iron clusters... that dwarf is a greedy bugger!)

Yes, first you would make a pristine weapon and then in an additional combine you would imbue the weapon by combining it with the purchased extract to end up with an imbued weapon.

No, you don't have to make a new weapon, (or a new anything else), you can imbue any pristine item that you have an imbue recipe for. In fact, you can even imbue an attuned item, (I've done it), and as a bonus, when you're done the item is no longer attuned! I guess they figured that the original item was attuned but the imbued version is no longer the original item!

Check the NPC merchant in the trade skill instance when you are a member.

They're uncommon but not that rare! You probably just missed them... keep looking or better still, send mail to some of the alkys on your server and strike up a deal. You should be able to find someone who will make them for you and use the materials you've already found.

OLD_BLUE...

You are great as usual!

As to the Imbuing an Attuned Item, this sounds like an exploit to be fixed...

I have a Barbarian Berzerker (23rd) and a Dwarven fighter (3rd).
I have been making weapons and spells for him... But I have been selling my attuned weapons as they grey out. Now I can find an imbuing potion for them and save it...

Probably NOT what they had intended!
