Has Ressurection and healing been fixed?Follow

I got EQ2 when it first came out and yes the selling system is completely idiotic but what caused me to quit was the requirements to be grouped to rez or heal. Have they changed this or is it still poorly implemented?

Last I checked you still have to be grouped to rez. Healing can be done in or out of group just not while in battle.

They have their lil thing about powerlevelers and not helpin em....so if your after powerleveling or being able to powerlevel then this won't ever be the game for you if not, then its a silly thing to quit over...

There is nothing to fix - as the poster above says, it was meant to stop power leveling. You can not resurrect out of group. A few heals (like Bloom) will work for folks who are not grouped, but not while they are in combat. Again, no PLing.

There IS something to fix. Rezzing people should not require being grouped, I HATE that. Sure, while the other group is in combat, fine, no rez. But if you see a guy die, you should be able to help him out and give him a quick drive by rez and heal.

The reason they took it out is apparently because idiots were griefing other players by rezzing them near mobs. Since apparently SOE can't figure out how to put up a dialog box to accept/reject the rez, they have not put it back in yet.

I'm sorry to sound harsh, but this IS a big deal to anyone who's ever played a healer.

It can't be this hard to fix. I expected it to be fixed within a patch or two of them removing rezzing outside of groups. Its been months and still not fixed.

I'm not convinced that these things are broken... Back in EQ I seemed to always be besieged with people demanding, (not asking for, but demanding), buffs!

"SoW me... you're a druid, Sow me... NOW !!!"

Since moving to EQ2, I find that this is no longer the case... And why are there no more bleating sheep begging for SoW, heals, a rez, a port, etc, etc? Because the mechanism for this abuse has been removed.

When I think back to the constant barage of spam I used to encounter every time I zoned into PoK, I am thankful we can't buff out of group in EQ2...

But this is just my oppinion... your mileage may vary...

going to have to side with Oldbluedragon on this one as well.. I VIVIDLY recall my white mage days in FFXI, after 25th level if you were not /anon, welcome to /tell-hell of people begging for a raise, buff, etc.... I even got teleport request LONG before I was 36th level.

I like playing my new cleric.. and it's nice not having to worry about anything I don't wish to worry about (save the occassional group invite if I'm in a mood to solo).

I honestly don't think the current situation is bad at all.. /yell and I can heal you.. if I'm nearby, I don't mind temp-grouping for a raise.. but getting a request from the other side of the zone just doesn't happen in EQ2 and I like that.

Yep in EQ1 druids and clerics had to live on /anon or people drove them nuts. This change is definately in their interests, I hope it stays.

Not being able to rez out of group has nothing to do with powerleveling, being bugged for buffs, etc. I think SOE should just implement the "Do you want to be rezzed" option and let anybody rez you.

I have alot of things that have tempted me to quit eq2. This is however just a minor deal to me.

Rezzing out of grp is one thing that you should be allowed to do. However this would require a lot of effort and time as well as some complaints from healers (me being one in eq1 and 2 i should know) but it should be an item only thing that if u do a quest probably around lvl 35-40 u get an item like the eq1 cleric epic item. This will stop the newbs from spamming the healers for a quick rez and also keep higher lvl spamming out cuz they aren't newbs (well hopefully)

I played both a druid and a cleric in EQ1, to very high level, and yes, I'm fully aware of the problems. I never went anon.

If the request was polite, and I had the time and inclination, I helped out. If not, the answer was "sorry I'm busy" and I went about my business. After that, further tells were ignored. I never had much of a problem, and the few rare occurences that were very rude were actually just funny to me. Why would you think that insulting the person you are asking for a favor is going to get you anywhere with them?

I'm not asking for out of group buffing. Please don't make SOW and buffs out of group. That would just lead back to the "bad old days". What I want is out of group rezzing, like they had in the beginning of the game.

There's something satisfying about being way out somewhere and being able to help some poor guy that stuck his nose in where it didn't belong. Or being helped in turn. Without having to group up to do it.

But its certainly not a deal breaker to me, its a minor annoyance that I think is shared by a large part of the healer community.
