Hello, im new to EQII, I bought the game today, installed and played for awhile, Im a level 7 Scout on Faydark. I have some question, whenever I want to play EQII the launchpad pops up and starts updating, it takes about 25-30 minutes, I was wondering if this is going to happen ALL the time? I dont want to wait half an hour just to play ; ;.

Another question is, how can I make money at my level, lately I've just been killing things in the Theives Way area. and taking and selling the drops.

I'm in freeport now and I have no idea what to do ; ;
I want to start a craft or something, but dont know how, I want some money so I can afford good items at my level.

Do you have any suggestions?
Thank You for any replies.

To start crafting you need to join the local Wholesalers Society in your village. Find the doorway in the ground that looks like a cellar door and speak to the person next to it, then you can enter.

As an artisan up to level 9 you can make a little bit of everything so go round all the different tables and try it out.

In the Wholesaler you will also find the Broker. There you can check out the prices that players are selling items for.

Hopefully you'll get some ideas for things you'd enjoy making that can make some cash for you.

Hi and welcome to EQ2.

Download: There are several downloadable patchs, plus a few extra voice-packs that you may be downloading in 25MB pieces. Check you Download Options tab on the Play screen. If you don't want the extra stuff, un-check the block. It's probably good to get it out of the way now, though.

Money: Cash is downplayed heavily, you can get most stuff you need from quests. At level 7, you should talk to every NPC you can and get quests. You will find that they are relativly simple, and they will give you cash, exp, and maybe an item (including armor).

Hunting and selling the drops is the easiest way to generate coin, although kinda slow.

Crafting: As stated, find the Wholesaler Tradeskill Instance and check in. They have all the crafting tables and much of the basic ingrediants to craft what you need.

Best thing to craft first is upgrades for all your Apprentice 1 spells/skills. As a Priest/Crafter on the IoR, I skilled up to level 9 and came out a Apprentice III Smite. You can do it yourself and it is inexpensive. Get your spells/skill up to at least Apprentice IV.

Remember, that to get the best quality (Pristine) product, the ingredient listed at the top of the recipe must begin as Pristine. All other items can be crude quality.

As a Scout (then Rogue/Bard/Predetor), you will have the use of Poisons (buy it then equip it then use it, forget what level it's available) and Bow (level 11). As soon as you can, get and use Poisons, as it will significantly increase your damage. Abrasive Goo is pretty common and a good starter.

Good luck!
