2 new guy questions...(?)Follow

#1 Mar 26 2005 at 11:50 AM Rating: Decent
When I am in a group, only the grp leader is being shown as a window. I really want all grp members shown with there name/health/power. As a Priest, left clicking on grp members rather then grp member windows is not working well. I am aware that grp members can be selected w/ F2,F3,F4 and so on. But how can I get grp window list to show?

I see ppl giving map coordinates like, 104 x 11.2. What and how does this work? Can't find any grid like info on my map.

Sounds like your group window is not expanded.

Mouse over the window boundry until you get a "resize" arrow. Click and drag the corner of the window, just as you would resize any window. You will find the rest of the group hidden inside. If you are not in a group, you can still resize it for next time.

If you find yourself always clicking on your group window but it gets "caught" and slides around, right click it and select Window Options. There you will find a check-box to lock it in place.

As far as the map coordinates...

You can do it the old eq way of typing /loc and the coordinates will be displayed for you.

Or (I like this) just hover the mouse over the compass and it will display the coordinates.
Keep in mind the first and last numbers are the typicaly used coordinates. The middle number gives your height, which is not useful most of the time.

hope this helps
enjoy

You are correct, there is no grind info like that on the map. When someone gives you loc coords the easiest way to make use of them is with the /waypoint command. If someone tells you some loc coords like (109.53,-20.04, 115.36), all you need to do inorder to get directions to thatlocation is type /waypoint 109.53,-20.04, 115.36

It'll give you that golden trail thingy to follow.

Speaking of waypoints...

If you're looking for a certain NPC in a zone, go to one of the guards by a gate and right click on him...you'll see an option called 'find npc'... click that and type in the name of the NPC you are trying to locate in that zone. The guard will 'waypoint' you to that NPC! Niiiiiiiice Smiley: clap

Last-last note about waypoint :)
You can also get a waypoint to someone in your group by using Alt+w. But they must be grouped and they must be in-zone.

Remember that the "Find NPC" ability with guards has a range limitation. A guard on one side of North Qeynos may not know where a NPC from the other side is. You may need to query several guard until one is close enough.

Im going to add some useless info about alt+w too:

Sometimes (eg thundering steppes) its not possible to see which instance you are in from the map, cos the name is too long. Alt+w will show you the full zone & instance.. thats it.. you can go and read some other thread now....

And one more - run, don't walk to eq2interface.com and download the eq2maps stuff. Its awesome, as far as I know SOE doesn't mind it, and it gives you a lot more info on the maps, like where quest npcs are, where quest bits are found, different locations etc. Very cool.

I like the /waypoint thing, I did not know that either, learnt something new!!
