Swashbuckler or Brigand???Follow

Let me start by saying that I am by no means an expert on this subject. This is just my observations so far.
I will try to address the issues as I see them.

Which is better- That solely depends on you and what you are looking for in a toon.

Which is better in a group- This will depends on what role you need for the group. If you are looking for straight DPS I would say brigand has an edge, although a small one, on the Swammy's. If you need CC then Swammy have a small edge over brigands.

Other than that I have not seen anything spectacular out of one that I didnt see from the other. Its just what you are looking for at the time.

Anyone out there that has played both want to chime in on this issue? I would be curious as to your thoughts.

Was grouping with a swashy the other day (Im a 21 brigand) and all he said about the two comparisons of our char was "I wish I had ruse not some stupid taunt!" (Ruse is a ma-HOOOSIVE damage attack we get at 21 that does up to 400 dmg on its own)

Was parsing, i was 21 he was 24 i normally beat him in short fights but the longer the fight went on the more he beat me by. Soemtimes i would out-dps him by 10 or 20, sometimes he would do the same to me. I think they're very similar, the question is do you want to be good or evil? Apart from that there is almost no difference.
