% on rare harvestsFollow

I quit playing EQ2 some months ago, back in Dec. I was about 95% crafter, and 5% adventurer lol. My main market was adept 3s, and of course, I was buying about 9,999 of 10,000 resources, due to the drop rate. Prices on these skills were sky high, running about 700x to 1400x the cost of an adept 1.

What I have heard, is that the drop rates on the tier 1 adept 3 resources, Lapis and Copper, have been increased 3 fold. Is that the same with all tiers, or was it just tier 1, since ppl only harvest in tier 1 areas for a short time?

I have not noticed a increase, and I harvest constantly. In fact I know without a doubt my main has harvested around 1500+ items (not including fishing, bushes, mushrooms) and I have gotten about 4 rares. The few rares I got was worth a couple of gold on broker. Kinda discourageing to be honest, have a guildy who has made about 10pp off rare harvests. I have yet to see my first PP, and I am higher then they are :/

I have noticed an increase in rare drops in tier 2 but I would say it is about double and not triple. And now, with the new *uncommon* drops used for augmentations I am seeing even more rares.

This morning I logged on for an hour or so to level up and picked up a coral and a glowing flower. Last night, I caught a glowing stone.

I am also starting to see a lot more rare chest drops in Antonica. There is now a much better selection of items coming out of chests with many of them containing usable weapons or armor. But best of all, there are now rare items dropping from chests that can be used in place of the usual rares when making rare combines.

In fact, I can't remember the last time I saw one of those crappy shields drop in a chest!

agree there its not 3 fold which BTW would be X300 its double or X2. As for rares from day 1 now I have found 18 rares most of them T3 rares. I have harvested a ton of too.

First thing I did yesterday was harvest 2nd log bam a fir so who knows :P

Thats all I got yesterday other then 3 of the new ones 1 a stone and other 2 from logs.

I don't seemed real easy to get one yesterday thats 4 rares in less then 30 min then bam they servers all came down, after that harvested for an hour and nothing.

I've been trying to come up with some numbers myself, but we can just say that the t1 rares are still very rare.

Attempts over 10 consecutive days :
Unearthed Stone/Moss Covered Stone : 565 total
423 Lead Clusters
180 Rough Malachite
1 Lapis
1 Copper cluster

Compound ore : 422 total
421 Tin
1 Bronze cluster

Wood : 653 Severed Elm
1 Alder

As you can see, patience pays off (sort of), but they are still seem to be as rare as before in t1 zones. Either that or I'm just really unlucky. Still, I managed to get a crapload of JumJum, coffee beans and other provisioner material, so it wasn't a wasted effort.

Thats about the same as me on a given day. I have days where I will get 3 or 4 rares and then I will go weeks with nothing, and I harvest a lot while playing. All I know is that they doubled the chance of getting a rare so for all we know it went from .00001% to .00002% chance per harvest to get a rare.
With out the % that it was before who knows what the % is now?

Errr, yeah, 700%, not times LOL That was a typo (in chemistry, that would have killed someone ><)

Well, it sounds like the rare situation is improving. I will say though, that I made a small fortune off of adept 3s, since I had a couple ppl scouting the merchants all the time looking for good deals on rares. While I did make a lot off of them, it was high-stress, with ppl going off about pricing (not knowing what goes into an adept 3), and always haggling prices on rares. It quickly turned into a 2nd job, which is why I quit.

Its good to see that maybe the intensity of that proffesion is tapering somewhat.

Just my own experience :

They say that the rare frequency in t1-t3 zones is "slightly increased" . I dont remember ever seeing a solid # or % .
But i havent noticed any increase and i harvest constantly .
I have gotten a few of those glowing stones , but not even sure what they go for yet(havent had time to check the broker) .

Im probably just unlucky tho cause i see alot of posts about people getting a rare every day . And i cant get a silver or coarl to save my life hehehe

Well go back and read patch notes again they said they doubled the chance. That would be N * 2. Now if we just knew what N was :)
