Im not quite sure where people get higher levels are more fun on here. So far I am lvl 34 and It seems to be to get duller each day for me. I had thought SOE has claimed EQ2 would get rid of the need to CAMP mobs, yet I sat in a group for 3 hours a couple of nights ago in ROV trying to get tomb of death and the named for COI access. I must say I am getting really down this this game. Quest 30+ almost always requires a group, and as a DPS I don't exactly walk straight into a group. I know the first thing somebody is ready to say is "Join a good guild" Well I am in a good guild, but that doesn't mean you walk into a group each time you log on. And to make thigns worse I am about to start back to work, and I know I will be missing 75% of the raids, groups, etc that they do.

I just feel eq2 requires way too many subquests to complete a quest. I mean I have been working on GBS and I find out I gotta have access to COI to finish. However to gain access to COI I have to go start another access quest back in town. Just too many zone have access quests IMO. I mean when eq1 first came out the only zones that required any type of access was a couple of keyed rooms in(befallen and Najena), and then you only need 1 person not even in your group for that. In eq2 I swear I can't even count the access quests they got. And most of them are not what I would call fun. Seems like most of them just run you all over the place, have you kill random mobs till you get a quest update, and basically just take up alot of time. I did enjoy the boat rides for EL and Zek, but the part up to that point wasn't much fun.

I mean Nek castle access took well over a hour and it was just running all over a somewhat dangerous zone eatting up time for the most part. I have still yet to get all the named for COI, got 1 of them left after camping it for hours. I remember the time it took for TOV access and the only thing is seemed to be good for is picking up ghoulbane.

I came to eq2 expecting it to be less time consuming then eq1. In some ways it has improved, but in other ways it has gotten worse. Nothing I dislike more then having to complete long tedious quests just to be able to enter a zone I paid for. I just hope future expansions don't have anything like that planar progression quest *shudders*.

Another thing that comes to mind is I could just slow down some. I have been playing alot lately. Thing is my friends on eq2 are leveling what seems like every day. I can easily see 1 month from now them being lvl 50 hunting in permafrost and me lvl 39ish and too low to group with them anymore. This is actually something that worries me right now, without my friends I have no reason to continue playing this game really. I want to do a bunch of side quests but have this gut feeling of trying to level as fast as possible so I can try and keep up to them. Right now its not too bad, but when I go back to work I am gone 2 days at at tiem sometimes and my sleep gets all screwed up.

Anyways I don't mean to make this sound so much like a big complaint, but things that are on my mind.

Ohh poor thing /hug

Yeah, some of the access quests are very tidous, worst so far is CH. I love the idea of having access quest but most requires way to much running.

I think you shouldnt worrie to muc about your friends outlvling you tho, they will mentor you when they hit 50 Im sure.

When game was released I had the feeling I had to level really fast to keep up with my guild, it was not fun, I wanted to do stuff in the game not only high-end. Wasnt fun playing so I rerolled my char, started over without them and took my time.

By now the people stressing to end game burned them selfs out and left the game along with the one's that played diffrent classes over and over again.
I rejoined the guild again and the one that didnt leave are the one's that didnt stress (or played alot of alts).

Im having a blast and to me the game gets better and better tho early 30 and late 30 where kind of boring.

If you get bored camping that name for access then dont, for a while atleast. There are TONS of quest in this game.. Just continue with another quest for now and get back to that stupid named another time.
The one your talking about I did when the whole zone was grey.. 2 days in a row I checked if he was up, never camped him, second day he was up and I killed him.
Can be hard on a crowded server but find out what time people dont play as much (late friday night seem to be good on my server) and then either grey out the zone or sneak in and kill.

Hang in there!

Some of my friends in my guild have been out-levelling me from day one. But I don't want to rush through content and just turn the game into an exp grind. There's so much to do and see along the way.

The way I see it, eventually we'll all be 50 anyway and it'll be more like EQ with everyone on the same level.

I'm loving all the quests, including the access quests, there's always something different to do.

Im not so much worried about eventually being 50, but we all know it won't be long till they have a expansion and it will let you go even higher then 50. Doesn't SOE have plans to eventually allow players to reach level 200??

I have just come to the conclusion I am going to slow down. I have also found if I only level about every other day its really about the same speed since I actually have some vitality. I just finished up the betray quest with my ratonga healer, I have been playing my charactors about every other day or so. Had some fun doing the betrayal quest, took me about 4 days to do it all.

I just hope the next expansion does let players go to some crazily high level.
