I picked up an advanced oufitter vol last night from a mob and thought GREaT I can now make some decent light armour but one of the recipes is for Cured Leather and that needs Avergae Quality Pelt. Anyone know where I can get that from?

Dutchess Iaini, did you mean that you regularly find average or sullied average pelts?

I checked EQTraders and they say that a stretch of cured leather requires:

Components:
Primary Component: average quality pelt(1)
Build Component 1: stroma wash(2)
Fuel Component 1: thread filament(3)

I think this would make it a rare as opposed to a sullied pelt...

Also, tantum, remember that to actually make this stuff, you will not only need the book you found, (Advanced Outfitter Leather Armor Volume XX), but also a copy of "Advanced Outfitter Refining Volume 11" which has the recipes for refining the stretch and the plate to make the final combine from.

Correct, Average Quality pelts and this is what he needs are RARE. This means they tend to be fairly rare and expensive.

You can use the Advanced Refining or one of the new Advanced skill books. I find the new advanced (Advanced Apothcary) for example often run much cheaper then their older and more limited versions. Depending on your funds either way works, but it is using a rare.
