I'm sure it here somewhere in the message board but i cant find it. So I was wondering which is better a berseker or a guardian. I know a berseker does more damage at least it should seem that way and I'm guessing a guardian has better defense. So my question basically is which is better at tanking and if there is a big difference between them?
Right now im leaning toward Berseker because of the higher dps and the name sounds cool.

You pretty well hit it on the head. Bezerker tends towards more offensive capabilities, while the Guardian will lean toward more of a defensive role. Both however are tanks, and tank equally.
I don't buy into guardians claim that because they have the most defensive skills they are superior, as this is offset by the bezerkers higher DPS due to abilities. I also don't think that bezerkers have the advantage due to their higher taunt ability, as a guardian who keeps his taunts updated even in the app 3 & 4 range has no difficulty holding agro.
Fighting over which is better is pointless, as both classes have advantages, and disadvantages that put them on an equal playing field.
If the bezerker is your thing, then play the bezerker, no one can fault you for it, and most groups (most not all) have no problem letting a Bezerker tank. Those that do are not worth joining in the first place anyway.

As far as pure tank, Guardians are technically superior due to better armor and higher HP. Zerkers and other tank classes are excellent tanks as well. Priests throughout Norrath will all tell you that guardians require less healing, but ultimately, any tank class can effectively tank 98% of the day-to-day creatures in the game. Only when you start raiding (and reach end-game) will this become an issue. For your daily grind or dungeon crawl, any tank will do and it comes down to gear/level when deciding on who will be MT.
I chose guardian only because our guild needed an MT (main tank for raids). For soloing and duoing, zerkers/pallies are more fun and just as effective. Only when that big bad dragon needs to be tanked will the clerics start calling for the guardians. For everything else, the other 98% of the game, any tank will do. Pick the one that sounds more fun to you.

So what your saying is playing a guardian sucks unless you are the main raid MT? That Guardian is NOT a fun class to play? So just what are you trying to say here?
Don't play a Guardian unless you are a power monger/loser who is all into him/herself?
Don't worry man they will get around to nurfing the Guardians also so you will be no more or no less a MT then any of the Tank class's after all it was never SoE intent to allow that to happen.

My defiler loves it when there is a Berzerker MT. IMO if they are not equal to Guardians in tanking ability it is only by a little bit and their damage output makes up for that. There are only 2 things I want out of my main tank. Don't die in one hit and keep the mobs attention. Berzerker is wonderfully good at both of those. I personally have never fought a lvl 50 ^^^ mob or anything like that so I donno about that stuff. However, if I was going to and my guilds big fat Berzerker was the tank I would be perfectly ok with it.
