Dependant on Other Tradeskills?Follow

#1 Mar 07 2005 at 12:05 PM Rating: Decent
Im up to level 18 Scholar, and im still not dependant on other Tradeskills.

To scribe:

Papeterie Paper/ Coulin Paper thus far (sp may be off)
Sepia Ink/ Iron Gual Ink
Elm Quill / Maple Quill
Incense

Now, the only things I could use another tradeskill for is the quills and paper. You can buy the papeterie paper from the wholesaler for very little. The coulin papers, and quills can be made rather easy. Now, I've seen a few places that the only ingredient you need to be Pristine is the Primary. So, basically, you can make crude paper and quills and still get the App IV. I've not leveled woodworking or timbercraft at ALL, and make my own quills, ink and paper, and still have no need for another TS.

To make Essences:

Sepia Ink / Iron Gual Ink
Stroma Wash? Cant remember exactly, as im at work
Larent Suspension
Candle

Same as above, but the wash, suspension, and candles can all be bought from the wholesaler, the only thing you need to make is the ink, which we do anyway.

To make Runes:

Sepia Ink / Iron Gual Ink
Iron Spike
Electrum Ornament
Coal

This one I could see using another TS, but the spikes and ornaments can still be crude, so making them yourself is not completely out of the question.

So, in conclusion, the only reason I can see to use another TS is to save time, is this correct? Or am I just missing something?

Actually once you hit 20 you can still make the paper, quills, and ink yourself.

You just need to use the new books they put in.

Apothecary Essentials, Volume 1
Geomancy Essentials, Volume 1
Timbercraft Essentials, Volume 1
Weaving Essentials, Volume 1

Apothecary Essentials, Volume 2
Geomancy Essentials, Volume 2
Timbercraft Essentials, Volume 2
Weaving Essentials, Volume 2

Apothecary Essentials, Volume 3
Geomancy Essentials, Volume 3
Timbercraft Essentials, Volume 3
Weaving Essentials, Volume 3

Apothecary Essentials, Volume 4
Geomancy Essentials, Volume 4
Timbercraft Essentials, Volume 4
Weaving Essentials, Volume 4

Click here to see what is in each book

http://eq2-tradeskills.com/WebHelp/Index.htm is thier home page

Using these I make all my own WORTS (Wash, Oil, Resin, Temper) as well as my own buckles as a tailor.

This was a HUGE boon to sages, as otherwise they ONLY have final combines and could not make ANY of thier subcombines

I seen on that website it lists the Tier 1 - 5 Fuels.

It lists Tier 2 fuel for scribing as Cedar Incense, I've never used the stuff as I didn't think it was a requirement. Does it make any difference to use Tier 2 fuel with Tier 2 spells? I've never tried it, so any input would be great.

All the tiers USED to use the same fuel. Different skills used different fuel but you used the same regaurdless of level (loom always used 6cp filiment and forge always used 6cp coal)

Recently they changed tradeskills to use a different (and more exspencive) fuel every tier. However it got coded so that you can use ANY tier of fuel on ANY tier combine.

currently you can use the 4cp fuel everytime. However the sell back to a vender is based on your fuel costs Approx 120% of costs. So if you are making to sell to a vender use the more exspensive. If you are selling to a player or using use the cheap fuels to save on cost.

All in all I excpet it to be fixed soon and end up requiring the correct level of fuel.

to make app4's the apothecary/timbercraft essential books will do just fine. Adept 3 books are a little harder being as the Advanced apothecary books are loot only and you need these to make indigo ink and so on.
