I recently left WoW after hitting lvl 60 twice and having nothing to do. I have 4 max lvl tradeskills on two characters and it took a negligable amount of time to do so. 99.9% of all lvl 60s have 2 maxed out tradeskills in WoW, it is a real carebear system. first thing i noticed when I got into EQ2 was how different the TS system is. I spent a good amount of time farming for components on the isle of refuge. I made it all the way to lvl 7 in TS off of 21 tin but it took me the better part of an hour. I've bought all my books from the merchant in the instance but I hear that there are optional books that contain rarer item combines, like adept III scrolls. I have been unable to locate a TS guide on where I might aquire these books. I also hear that they go in order, you need the optional volume 4 to make some of the components used in recipes found in optional volumes 5 and 6 but I don't know. A link to a thread containing information like this, or just a finger pointing me in the right direction would be a godsend. Also any additional tips, pointers, or suggestions would be warmly welcomed and greatly appreciated. Thanks

Ephron

The optional books are all random drops so you can find them on the broker. Take a look at EQTraders, they have a very good section on crafting in EQ2 Smiley: smile

By far and away the best place to find the Advanced "X" Book is on the Broker. This is the merchant system that allows players to sell items from their rooms when they are online and idle. You can access the broker in the Trade Instances and a few places around the city.

A good guide can be found at

A massive change was put in recently allowing any crafter to make any non-final item. This means you have two choices for items not within your specialty. You can keep the new skills up and make it yourself, or you can buy it from someone else. Note making it yourself is often 1000 times cheaper. Example: T5 Tempers go for 3.0 silver per, but you can make 4 of them at a cost of about 10 copper each if your carefull when you buy your raws.

If your not going to be an alchemist or provisoner I strongly suggest keeping your Apothacary skill up once it becomes available.
