Ability to block, parry - evade stuffFollow

I found it is strange when I play my warden. I am using a shield and a weapon.

When I am level 24 and killing the skeleton knight(level 20) in stormhold. I was wearing all armors until AQ5 and i have a very light armor chest, the AC isn't bad becox i found in TS and con the chest yellow. They hit me a lot and hurts, i used mana to DD and heal myself.

Then, I completed AQ6 for the final chest piece. At the same level 24. I found the skeleton knight cannot hurt me. I don't even heal myself once. The chest piece con Orange to me.

My question is:- Beside the AC. If an "armor level"(i mean the level limit on armor)is far higher than the monster. Then we have chance to evade all attacks? And how it is work really?

AC is king in this game, it really does make a huge difference to the damage you take.

As far as armor having a high-con in relation to what you're fighting, I very much doubt it makes a difference. But going from a con-yellow very-light armor to your AQ6 probably gave you between 50 and 100 additional AC, and that's a huge difference.

Also, I've noticed that things in this game seem to have thresholds. For instance, one level a certain mob might own you, and the next level it gets owned. The only real difference from one level to the next is that your defense/combat skills have gone up 5 points (and have a bit more health/pwr).

Likewise a mob might have a "magic number" or threshold on how much AC will defend against it. Sometimes even adding a few AC points can make a huge difference on specific mobs, depending on their threshold.

Keep in mind this isn't verified or anything... it's only how it seems to work from my point of view. It's based on my own observations (mostly using temporary skill/stat buffs in combat with Assassin and Brawler).

As an experiment, try fighting it without your AC buffs up.

Keep in mind your ability to "evade" attacks is a reflection of your defense, not AC. I know that for some reason when you examine another player it calls their AC Defense. I don't know why they chose that but it makes things confusing. Your Defense is actually your Defense Skill (under the Skill window). Defense is a direct correlation of your AGI and your level. Your AC makes attacks do less damage when they hit you. And obviously your hitpoints (which are a reflection of your STA) are how much total damage you can take.

In defense= AC issue:- I think EQ2 used a same method as EQ1. That is every mob has its max damage hit. You effectiveness of AC will only decrease the chance to hit you MAX hit. But the mob still got a chance to hit you hard.

For the evade= parry/block issue:- I doubt they used a different calculation. And yes, we discovered we evade MOST of the attack if you con a mob in gray or green. However, it is 4 levels far from green and 5 level different from gray. If every level say a 5 points increasment in evade skills. That is 20 to 25 points only to make u evade 90% attacks. In EQ1, U won't find 25 points of parry/block will help you to evade the hit most of the time.

I am not sure it is right or not. This is only my observation by plaing EQ1 for 3 years and EQ2 for 3 months.

I've said this before, but it was a while ago so I will say it again.

The order of importance is (for most situations):

1) Level - Level is more important than anything else in the game when it comes to being effective against mobs. The higher the level, the longer you will last against a mob.

2) AC - Specifically for the fighters. Your calculated AC is where it's at. If you can't deflect/absorb the hits from the mobs you're going to be toast.

3) HP - Next, but only just barely, is Hit Points. No matter how many attacks you deflect, if you don't have the HP to absorb the ones that land, you might as well sit that fight out. Not enough HP means you are a mana/power sponge for the healers. If they are burning their power on you because one or two hits almost kills you, then you shouldn't be the tank.

4) Resistances - Again, this is only below the rest of the items by only a tiny bit of importance. Resistances will definately help in those boss fights, the more you resist from attacks (special, magical, or other) the less you need healed. Resistances also keep you from being feared, charmed, stunned, etc. Important stuff for a tank.

Thanks for your opionion Scholar. However, I wish to know some fact and calculations instead of discussion and past experience.
