Guild members of opposing citiesFollow

I am looking for some info on what happens if you join a guild of an opposing city, and Im getting conflicting reports. Some say that you cannot be a patron, nor can you contribute to your guild by city tasks and heritage quests. Others say that you can indeed contribute to your guild. Im looking for folks that are in opposing city guilds or have tried it before. Is it possible to do the tasks and heritage quests and be a contributing patron to your guild? If so, do you do the tasks for YOUR home city, or do you do the tasks for your GUILDS home city?

Thank you much

I am guilded to Fearless which is based in Freeport, and I am a Qeynosian. I am one of very few in Qeynos associated with our guild.

I recently completed a guild quest that I had gotten in Qeynos and it added personal status points to me as well as guild status points.
