Hey everyone, just a couple quick questions to ask you higher lvl tanks. I started an Ogre fighter alt, because I was an Ogre Warrior on EQ1, but I wasnt sure what I wanted to be. Do both Warriors and Crusaders wear medium armor until lvl 20 or do Warriors get heavy at 10? I think being an SK would be hella cool cause you get a horse at lvl 20, even if its not that much faster than running, horses are cool. Anyways, any input on this subject would be much appreciated. I like being able to do some damage instead of doing nothing but suckin it up. Thanks for any future information.

Warriors get heavy armour at 20. Choosing between warrior and crusader is mainly a role-playing choice, if you fancy being an SK, then just go for it.

The main differences will be at higher levels when Guardian/Berserker will be MT due to greater damage mitigation and Pally/SK will be secondary tank. Also crusaders can't use bows whereas warriors can.

Additionally, to help with the damage mitigation, pallies get heals (I think) and SKs get life-taps attached to some of their attacks.

When I partner with SKs, they often end fights with more HP than they started with ^_~

In my opinion pallys are the best...with the large mitigation...lots of HP and a heal and a ward to replace em...but they make awesome secondary tanks with thier armanent spells...where if you find yourself being a secondary tank its always nice to give the MT bout 400 more AC and pull out the big 2 hander...but pallys also excel at MT....pallys do not excel at DPS, there not bad...but definately not good either....but my pally is a TANK...im building him to make Lord Nagafen my ***** when i find the scale covered freak...anyways stating my opinin then off to work....later

I disagree with that. My paladin is lvl 26 atm, and i am usually chosen as MT over warriors (guardians mostly) that are several lvls higher than me. With my self buffs my mitigation and hps usually go much higher than most fighters in my group. Paladins are good class to play. They definately arent the fastest DPS, but they werent built for that :p
