What Do You Want to See For The Site?Follow

1) Creation guides
at a minimum, distill the thread-based knowledge regarding
dual wield vs single wield weapons etc - who uses them, can you use a longsword and a dagger (no, they should both be dual wield) etc

2) How to use a bow -- or if its practical, say for a bard rather than ranger

3) Crafting guide at least taking people to skill 10+ so they can start making pristine inks, chests, backpacks etc for coin

4) Solo advice by class

I'll try to write something on each, now that I've had 3 weeks exposure to the game.

5) I miss the EQatlas approach of maps with zone details, not JUST a map, but a general discussion of pathing issues, people to look out for, why you want to visit it, in short - information for the tourist... There's already excellent maps at the Polish site, but theres not a zone discussion like on old EQmaps. It would help.

6) I wish I could view a list of vendor items vs player crafted items to plan my future expenditures while offline.

7) If you use a database engine like SQL 2000, maybe premium content users could log in, and leave crafting WISH LISTS by server, with date name quantity and see who bites with offers. Thus crafters know whether items have potential, and prices can be eventually settled. This might be too much server bandwidth for you, in terms of the back end, but I think a SQL server could do the trick.

8) in similar vein, for your site to break even rather than be a money sink, consider doing things nobody else does and everybody didnt think to ask for. Err um, maybe thats why you asked :))

I'm sorry I havent been able to contribute financially, but perhaps ideas are the coin of the times.

I should add to my last post by pointing out that I went look at the enemy, Ogaming, and found it really lacking. The boards are nothing compared to these forums, and I couldn't find the betrayl quests anywhere in their site. I'm not sure why more people say they're heading there. Their spell listings were pretty good, and their quest database is good in general, but Allakhazam is just as good.

But class based guides would be awesome, as would real zone guides, some map access, and maybe hook premium subscribers uo with their own blogs, or bigger sig space, since folks seem to really like that.

I gota say though, this is still my favorite EQ2 site, hands down.

I would REALLY love to see a "search" for the Item database, similar to EQ1's site. Trying to find certain items, for certain slots, for certain level, with a certain effect is not possible, and I truely miss that.

Two Things that would bring Alla's back into my visited web sites for EQ2 would be....

Spell Details for each class - No current site has the details for each spell a Lucy would be very nice or just someone entering in the details for each spell with varations based on level and app2-4 Adept, master...

Item Search for Class and Lavel.

There are plenty of sites with every zoned maped and others with quest databases. But I have not found one site that can even tell you how much minor healing does when it is awarded, very week.

I'm not sure if the spell information is client or server side but I can tell you if there was even a base database with spell infomation people would be back in droves.

Example from eqplayers.com
Class Spell Name Skill Level Power Cost Concentration Description
Priest Minor Healing inspirations 3 4 0 Instantly heals a chosen ally.

Hope to see Allakhazam's come back from the eq2 death roll.

Their spell listings were pretty good, and their quest database is good in general, but Allakhazam is just as good.

I used to be a premium allakhazam.com subscriber a year ago when I still played EQ1, and of course, when I made the switch to EQ2, I initially stuck with allakhazam.com, hoping that it would make a serious effort to support SOE's newest game. Now, eight months after EQ2 was launched, it is clear that allakhazam.com doesn't even come close to meeting the needs of any even halfway serious EQ2 player.

- Only a woefully small fraction of the items in the game currently exist in the allakhazam EQ2 database; I'd estimate less than 25% of all non-fabled items can be found on allakhazam.com today. Meanwhile, ogaming has by now catalogued about 90% of all non-fabled items in the game and are slowly adding raid-level gear.

- There is no advanced search feature available. The ogaming.com search interface certainly isn't as user-friendly as the original allakhazam.com EQ1 equivalent, but considering what you are offering EQ2 players, ogaming is realistically the only place to go if you want to research your upgrade options.

- Allakhazam is ridiculously behind when it comes to the quest database. Ogaming.com sports more than 1000 quests out of the, what, 1400 that exist in the game today. Has allakhazam.com reached the 250 mark yet? For crying out loud, you don't even have half the heritage quests! It doesn't get any more basic than that.

- No site currently makes the cut when it comes to spells and combat arts, but again, ogaming has more info: complete lists of all spells and arts. Unfortunately, ogaming still doesn't provide detailed data, such as spell damage, but again, what is available is a lot better than the absence of info on this site.

In closing, let me state that I'd love to make allakhazam.com my primary resource for EQ2 data, just as it used to be with regards to EQ1 information, but in all honesty, speaking as a serious high-end gamer, the site is currently nearly a complete waste of my time.

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this post, but I am thrilled that you put up spell listings for every class, and especially that you specified in which cities each class can be played. So many people think that warlocks, furies, and dirges are evil-only. And the Allakhazam lists are very accurate -- last time I was on Ogaming, their spell lists had several mistakes, and I've seen lists just like theirs everywhere.
One little thing I'd like to point out though. :) You forgot escape (all scouts get it at 25) and rescue (all fighters get it at 25). I don't know if maybe this was done on purpose (since technically those combat arts are for archetypes, not subclasses), but they probably ought to be put somewhere.

We are currently working on getting everything up to date - items / quests / etc...

The recent spell update is one thing we needed and we will have more details for spells and be sure to keep them as accurate as possible. I will be trolling these forums to see all suggestions and make sure to look at every comment and do my best to get these requests implemented.

I would like to see more detail on crafting and some better searches. Also a quick search bar like you have on the WoW site would be awesome.

Thanks guys.

Now I stopped reading throught this after the first page but I would like to see something like you did with wow where you had an addon that collected the information for you. If you did it that way you would get acurate information and would not be as dependent on your users. Just that we run the program. Also all of your armor and weapon descriptions are wrong now due to recent changes. There is no longer any mastery just certain classes can use them at certain levels and you dont progress into them they are maxed out when you get them. I know this is recent and that is one reason it is not implemented but this should make alot of your tracking and searching easier to do now for it corelates better with you EQ1 was done.

Pretty basic thought of the days either allowing them to be user submitted or to do them yourself but with your schedual it's seems hard

I totally agree with you. The spell list we have now is out of date by a long shot. I was about to write on the forum that perhaps the people on this site all went on vacation. At least the guy running it is honest enough to admit he doesn't even play the game (now that's encouraging). Just what I need to spend my subscription money on. I came to this site and paid my subscription fee because the EQ1 site was second to none. I expect no less from the EQ2 site. Get some folks on your team that DO play the game. I personally don't care much for the "crybabies" who think that EQ2 revolves around them. The new system was nothing more than a challenge to improve your character with what you were given. Gee, my Mage lost his favorite pet, but what they enhanced were the DD spells to compensate. Sure I had to change my strategy, but guess what? I had more fun "getting it right" than I'd had in a while with the old system. I really hope this site improves soon. I'm loosing a lot of respect for a site I bragged to all my friends as being the "Best on The Web". Get it together guys!!!!

I'd like to see a way to get ItemsStats_1.11 for eqdkp to link up to all the items on this site.

Spydieeidyps, I already told you I passed your request on to our developers. Bumping a three year old thread is not going to help.
