Considering Redoing Traits (Training)Follow

I'm a level 29 templar. So far, I have been happy with the traits I selected. At every opportunity, I chose to up wisdom. I also chose opportunities to increase power regen (have the Harmonious Mind spell) as well as regen outside of battle. I had a new vitae spell for a long time (through trait selection) that was very nice, however, now that I have Supplicant's Prayer, it has been replaced.

Should I redo my traits and racial whatnots since we have been given the opportunity? I know that at some point, I chose to regenerate mana faster outside of battle (my mana generates at an awesome speed outside of battle, even without food), but someone said that was a mistake.

Just looking for some FB. I am a high elf by the way (just to give you some idea of the racial abilities offered).

The only time you shouldn't choose Wisdom is when you can choose Power instead. Even when buying equipment, I choose items that add power first, wisdom second, and ac third.

Also, instead of the pwr regen thing (which doesnt last long and has obnoxiously long recast time) I'd recommend something more practically useful, like boost to a tradeskill or something. I know I told you that you want pwr more than anything, but you don't need the 3% boost to pwr pool; 3% is nothing. (what's 24 pwr to a pool of 800?)

Overall, the racial abilities are crap, if you haven't noticed lol.

Also
If you want to regen mana, buy some nice drink.

Even when buying equipment you still look at the power first? I was under the impression like in EQ1 that you would gain more power from Wis, usually when I buy equipment I look at the power vs. wis and will usually go with the item that has the higher wis to the one with the less power. Any thoughts on this?

As far as traits go with the /respec command they gave us it is tempting to use, there are a couple traits that I might have gone differently with but I agree with going for the wis or power first and foremost. I think I may wait until I get a bit higher to use it myself, that way hopefully I will have a better idea of what spells I use most and what not.

Noldarian, you're technically correct. As you gain levels, Wisdom = more and more power. However, high-wisdom items are rare & expensive compared to high-power ones.

For example, at lvl 18, 1 Wisdom = 1.6 Power.

So would you equip that mace that gives you +3Wis +7Pwr, or the warrior weapon (lets say Splintering Wooden Staff for example) that gives you +4 Agi +17 Pwr?

Cleric mace gives 3(1.6) + 7 = 11 power (game rounds down).

The Warrior weapon just gives +17.

So basically don't blow a gold on that +5 wis item when you can get an item with +27 Pwr for half the price. The only problem with this is there's a WIS search on the broker but no PWR search ~_~;; so there's a lot of browsing involved lol.

Does that clear it up?

(edit: typos... too much coffee today)
