I gathered pepper and salts and went to the stove. I tried to create a pack of spices but said I had no fuel. I had coal but the recipe called for kindling. I tried buying from the dwarf merchant but he has none for sale.
Is cooking now impossible on the isle without me buying kindling with an alternate and putting it in a shared bank slot or am I confused and not understanding? Thanks in advance for any input.

Try looking to see what fuels are available and examing them. I think the Teir 1 fuel cost a copper so if you sort by price it should be on the very top. I think its something like xxxx Kindling.
I checked the Island merchant last night and he currently has no cooking fuel. Oops! I imagine this is an oversight on SoE's part and the Far Seas Trading Company will get around to sending him some stock eventually! In the meantime, I just bought some with an alt and passed it through the shared bank.

Thank you both for the quick response. Until the Far Sea Trading Company returns to the Isle, I guess it is as OldBlueDragon has done, use an alt to pass the kindling. Thank you both again.

By the way - packet of spice now has a unit cost of 1c so since the item cost is equal to the fuel cost needed to make the item, unless you're just dying to skill up on the combine, it really doesn't pay to make them any more!
