It seems SOe is getting money from Dell, Nvidia, and now Pizza Hut. Isn't it nice to pay for a service and still have to look at advertisements. NExt thing you know we will have a patch with ad-ware in it.

I mentioned it in the other thread, so I'll say it here too: If additional advertisement is all it takes to keep them from charging me $30 per month to play my favorite game, then they can cover my toon in pepperoni and slap a great big Pizza Hut logo on my butt for all I care :)

Thing that bugs me about all this is I really don't see how EQ2 should cost anymore to run then Eq1? I mean Eq1 has 8, maybe 9 expansions they have to keep running as where eq2 has none. I don't really care about the stuff you look at while downloading a patch, but I do get sick of clicking twice due to Dell and Nividia ads each time I play the game. Oh we can't forget about Intel ads either lol.

Think it really looks crappy having Lucin holding a Pizza, I mean give me a break? While I have yet to do a /pizza I get the feeling it will cost more to do that then to simply pick your phone up and dial the number to order one. I mean I imagine most players have broadband connections anyways, so its not like the phone is tied up. And the few still on dial-up normally have a 2nd line anyways.

The reason why is cost more money is because there is a larger team working on EQ2 than there is for EQ1.

And you know...most games have ads in them these days, whether they are placed in game as some texture, or just appears at start up.

It doesn't really bother me that much, I know I will never use /pizza. There is a phone in the room usually, why would I be the ultimate lazy person and not budge from my seat?

Speaking of Ads, Alla's adds now get through my pop-up blocker which is really annoying.

I did read about this in the Wall Street Journal about a week or so ago...the ultimate goal is to use the /pizza and your credit card will be charged along with your monthly charge for EQ. This is a cross promotion dream...food, games and credit cards.

However, the image of some gamer who cannot even leave the game to pick up the phone to order food is sad...

So you save like 15 calories of effort to grab the phone. If you're that lazy what the hell are you going to do when the pizza gets to your house? Will they send a locksmith to break in and bring it right to you, then jam it in your mouth?

Eventually its going to come out of the other end, OH NOES!!! time to call a plumber to cart your ***** away.

Im sure we are gonna see the Jared of Subway NPC in our in-game rooms, and the Atkins Diet Guide on your friendly town crier. Not to mention more frivolous lawsuits from the "health impaired" due to the mixture of EQII laziness and the delicious but oily pizzas.

Bleh, /pizza forces me to burn 1000 calories to fill out the 2 page account form and 1 page order form.

How long has EQII been out? Say 2 or 3 months? At this rate......we can only imagine who we will be hearing from next.

Bad trend for EQII.....class balancing doesnt really help when they create spells like "Summon: Coca Cola (Adept I)" or "Heal the Whales for Green Peace (Adept III)". Better yet Campaign signs adorning Qeynos Gate from your friendly governor and senator (irl).

If you're getting pop-up ads, you may have adware or spyware on your machine.

What we need is to be able to use favor points towards a pizza and pop.

I wonder what braintrust at SOE thought this one up. My mom's been recently ordering her our food shopping needs online and the store delivers the groceries here. Pretty soon we won't even have to leave the house.

This post combined with the original humor of the actual /pizza thing had me laughing so much. Thank you for bringing tears to these sore eyes! Just the images that are brought to one's head thinking about this, just too funny! :D

Here's a thought... maybe it's time to sign up for premium service from Alla's... That'll get you past the popup and banner ads as well as lots of other perks and since you've already passed 100 posts, it's not like you never come here! So, if you're getting information and pleasure from visiting here, premium membership really doesn't cost all that much...
