For anyone experiencing constant lag problemsFollow

I had horrible lag problems, and for the longest time couldn't get any help with it, so I'm posting this here in case it helps.
First of all, this page is very useful, although it didn't help my exact problem it still rocks: http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=tech_support&message.id=3265

This was my problem... I got the game and was able to play fine. Then there was a huge patch and suddenly I was in constant lag. I contacted Sony, and jumped through hoops for them, sending them my system info several times. They were stumped, but blamed my ISP. I have Verizon DSL, and it clocks pretty fast in tests I've done. And when I contacted Verizon they verified that my connection was good. I was getting quite irritated, and kept logging in from time to time to see if I could play, and always I had horrible lag. Usually when I play EQ2, I disable my Antivirus and Firewall. However, one time I just went to check, and my Firewall was still on, and I got the pop up that said everquest had changed and gave me the option to allow access to my cpu. I did and it played perfectly.

This morning I noticed there was a huge patch. I logged in and lagged. Logged back out, turned on my McAfee firewall, got the same message, enabled access...logged back in and played perfectly.

Hope this helps anyone who experiences what I did, and could find no solution.
