New lands of EQ II

Greetings all.
After trying to get Ever Quest installed for the past two nights. I have finally finished that quest lol. What a chore that can be if things don’t go right.

I’m so jazzed to roll my first toon !!!

I have one question for the Boards today. How are the two Role playing servers? Besides Role playing are there any other attributes to the servers?

Thanks for your input in advance.

From my understanding, the only thing that distinqueshes a RP server from the rest is a note of text that states: "This server is Role Playing preferred".

There are, to my understanding, no special rules, or circumstances which would otherwise change gameplay present on those servers. Only that players who prefer to role play know that they are more likely to find other RPers present on these servers.

Thanks for the info gxm.

One other thing. I am coming form EQ I. Will it be hard to find other toons to group with say starting at level 5 ? I know the game has been out for a bit, and I hope I not to far behind the level curv.

not really hard at all, as with most things like this some classes get groups faster than others.. but on the whole it's not that tough finding a group.. now at level 5 the only thing I can think of that you would need a group for is the Orc cave on the Island... but I managed to duo that with myself (mage) and a fighter.. however we were both 6th level at the 220% XP cap on the island.

also, don't be too quick to leave the island.. this is an opportunity to work with tradeskilling when you don't have to go very far at all to harvest raw materials..

in addition, if you're making a character for freeport and wish to take up cooking definitely get your fishing skill to 20 on the island since freeport doesn't have very much water in the city itself..

I couldn't really tell you the answer to that question, but I can give you some information that you may be able to use.

The game has been out for a while now so a lot of the more seasoned players are, likely, going to be well beyond your level range. That isn't to say that you won't find low level players that know what they are doing, it's just that it may be harder to weed out the good from the bad.

You MIGHT have better luck finding low level, solid players on a RP server. The reason I say this, is that it is more likely that a role player will care less for levels and more for in-game, interpersonal relationships, yet still understand the game and its mechanics surprisingly well.

I play on Lucan, and I'm enjoying it much more than my first server, which was Najena. The atmosphere is a bit more mature, I've not run into many power-gamers, and most everyone is helpful (even us evils in Freeport, heh)

There is roleplaying on Lucan, but most that I've seen is light roleplay.

You should check this server out.
