Im afraid youll have to upgrade a bit.

I myself ran on 512 RAM for a bit but upgraded to 1 gig cuz in some instances (mostly the dungeon type ones) lag was killing me (literally). Now some machines will work ok with 512 RAM but you didnt mention what your specs were so its kind of hard to figure. But yes, a boost of RAM will be needed.

Ok pretty easy you get pretty much the same as me.

If you can afford 1 gig then thats what i would recommend, otherwise try 512 but it may still get laggy in some areas depending on time of day. But heh, if you can live with it, go for 512 :)

Depends youll have to search for a good deal

Some companies will give you good deals for RAM if you take the time to look around a bit. Got 512 RAM for 49.99$ Canadian money but it was a great deal, i saved like 80$.

well first thing if you plan on just adding on to the ram you have now you NEED to find out what KIND of ram you have meaning the brand and the speed and get the same thing just with more MB's. Since you have have 236 right now I would suggest getting AT LEAST a 512 stick of the same memory.

If you wanna just get faster memory (PC2100, PC3200, etc...) along with more MB's your choices are more whide open. I would suggest getting at least PC3200 speed if your motherboard can use the speed. If it cant then it will just run at the highest speed allowed. Look at the top 2 trust worthy brand Kingston and Corsair which both have lifetime warrenty. I would HIGHLY suggest getting 1 gig of memory for this game. The difference between 512 and 1 gig of memory with this game is a HUGE difference which is why SOE recomends 1 gig. With this game you reeeeally do not want to have just the minimum requirment which is 512 mb's.

Now as of places to look to buy I strongly urge you not to go to bestbuy or compusa or a store like that to buy. I only look at Neqegg.com and ZipZoomFly.com who have an amazing reputation for great service. There is also Pricewatch.com that searches online stores for the best deals out there which is always worth a look. But 8/10 times your gonna find the best deals at newegg or zipzoomfly.

Good luck in finding a good deal and enjoy the game. Its amazing.

Intrance i found a Mushkin Dual Pack 184-Pin 1GB(512MBx2) DDR PC-3200, i dont know that much about computer memory but do u think this would be compatable with my computer?

Mushkin is a pretty good brand and 184 pin is the most common pin count for memory so it should be. As long as you dont mix that memory with your current memory it should run great. You ould always take out one of your memory sticks and read the sticker thats on it and it will tell you your pin count and what speed memory it is.

Another option is to go to one or two of the websites run by RAM manufacturers and use the charts they have there. You should be able to punch in the brand and model of your computer and they will pop out a list of the ram chips they offer that will work.

Some of the big "parts" companies have this feature as well.

I just want to back up what Intrance said about Corsair and Kingston RAM. I ordered a 512 MB stick from Corsair on Tuesday and it arrived Thursday... $72 USD including shipping. Kingston was just a tad pricier, but the way their site works, they know exactly what you can use based on the specs you give them. Both are great deals, especially compared to BestBuy, CompUSA and the like.

My RAM works great! I used to get unbelievable lag in North Freeport, but not anymore!

Hey, Random...can you tell me where you got the RAM for so cheap, I'm in Canada to and can't find 512 for under $110

Thanks herbnosis i plan on buying the stick farely soon. I recently i found out that i needed a video card with pixel shader, so im debating on what i should get first. EQ2 qont let me play the game unless i have it so, i think i might get that first.

well your gonna need both actually to run the game. I would get the memory first so that while you wait for a video card you can have a faster PC ^_^
