There's no real best choice per se; it just depends on what role you want, both in solo and group play.

Bards are designed for group play, since their songs are designed to buff the group. Their attacks are still pretty good, but weaker than the rogue and predator.

Predators are designed to do plenty of damage, and they do. I don't know much about rogues. But all scout classes do most of their damage from behind, which is best suited for a group situation, where a tank can hold hate while the scout stands to the flank or behind a mob. The predator does the most damage, so is probably best suited of the three for solo work.

So I didn't answer your question the way you wanted to, but here it is: all three are best in groups, all three are capable of soloing to some extent.

Rogues do almost as much damage as predators, but also have group sneak and better hate lowering ability, and hate gaining ability for that matter since they have taunts in case they need to tank for some reason.

Hi )
For my part, I play a troubador actually level 23 on Storms server (french one), most of time soloing.

Bards are not so efficient than those of EQ1.
They can ware middle stuff on level 20 and so they can be real fighters (!), with their songs, they can haste, regen life and power, fast run, and others.

They are a real help in groups, and not too bad in solo.

You just need to be very well equiped, and find 2 good weapons too.

Have fun, and remember this is only a game ;)

I play an assasin (lvl 26 atm) and love it... but if I had it to do over again I'd go Rogue. I love group-sneak (fantastic shard-retrieval devise). Also, they tend to get frontal attacks (like Eye Gouge).

Can you imagine soloing as a class whose strongest attacks are from behind in a sneaking position? It's possible, but its tricky.

Lastly, predators grow on trees. Rogues are just as cool, with different tricks, and they're relatively uncommon (at least in FP on my server).
