Thoughts on erasing interdependency between Artisan Classes.Follow

#1 Feb 14 2005 at 1:00 AM Rating: Decent
Another thing thats going to appear in the next major update is each Artisan class will beable to make their components without the need of other classes but for the cost of more fuel.

I am not too far into my Scholar, but right now, I only need basic fuels such as generic candles. They cost 6cp. My question is, will it be worth seeking out components that other classes can make (which will cost them less fuel)rather than creating your own components? I honestly don't know if there are more elaborate fuels out there other than the basics that each vendor sells. Honestly 6cp is not that much, and adding to that cost won't do much either unless there is a large increase in fuels for one combine...or am I missing something.

Thoughts?

I don't think anyone can make fuels.

Ooof, They CANT be serious... So much for market interdependancy. Now everybody and their second cousin will be flooding the market with crafted tier 4 goods. I dont even MAKE componants for other crafters and I think this is a bad idea. I dont mind shoveling out a few silver or gold in order to make weapons as my weaponsmith, or spells as my sage. So you have to spend a whole extra 20c or so to make your componants, big whoop. Boo I say. BOOOOOOO.

My biggest concern right now is the increased cost of fuels. From the way they talk about it on the above website you ONLY will have to buy the expensive fuels IF you plan to make something your not a professional at (IE 15 outfitter making a burlap patter). However I was told in game from a person that plays on test server that all tier 2 and up things will cost more to make after this patch.Im gonna be a unhappy camper if it costs 24 copper for each tier 2 combine I try to do in my own trade. If it is just to make items your not skilled at, that is understandable.

As for being able to make the stuff myself I think it will be nice. Too many people are chargeing too much for required items. I have seen people selling stroma oils and such for as high as 5 and 10 silver each!! Also I have yet to make any chainmail armor cause people expect 60silver to 1 gold for a blasted burlap pattern. I finnally found a guildly who made me up some stroma and eolith stuff for practically nothing.

Anyways this could be good or bad is all I can figure right now.
