Does race make a difference.Follow

I have a question about whether or not race plays into skills in tradeskilling. I made a dwarf he is an armorer, ok normal no problem then I made an erudite he is an alchemist and with both of them I can make anything pristine and not have much trouble with max skills.

Then I make a barbarian craftsman and have so much trouble making food that I can't figure out what is going on. Is it a cultural thing barbarian/craftsman = bad or is cooking that much of a pain in the butt even with durability buffs. He is ok making crafted wood stuff but man does he suck on the stove.

For whatever reason, it's very hard to make top level food, nothing to do with race.

Race is pretty much a non-factor. While in theory each race can spend a trait and specialize in an area, it only provides +5 skill and is a waste for most crafters out there. 5 points of skill does not have any noticable effect once your skill gets above 100 (level 20). I know I picked up the Jewelcrafting one and its the biggest waste of a trait I have ever seen.

Making food is fairly annoying for anyone. You can use your buffs and try and crank out pristine but often as not your better off taking the normal version. I find I can craft 3-4 crude items in the same time as a pristine, and they sell for just a few silver less.
