need opinions from higher level craftersFollow

I'm diving into the crafting part of the game a little late.. but I started an enchanter and really enjoyed crafting so I'm picking it up with my predator and conjuror..

questions, my pred and conj are on the same server.. I wanted to make my predator an alchemist for making her own poisons and she can also make inks for the conjuror who I was going to make a scholar for spells.....

came to find out that in the 2nd tier both of them would be scholars.. so it doesn't make much sense.. I can make Nerris a scholar and she can make inks and scribe spells and make poisons.. but she will not be able to make better papers or poison vials, quills, etc.. etc.. so I figured I would make my conjuror a crafter.. it *seems* like that would be the best way to make it such that the two characters can make things for each other..

am I on the right thinking path? crafters make the higher paper and poison vials right? while scholars make the inks, poisons, etc..

another question.. can you make suspensions? if so.. how?.. I don't have a single recipe for making a suspension and those can get VERY expensive...

Look at the higher level items, and set your goal based on them.

While Alchemists and Sage are the same up until 20, once you hit 20 you will find their paths split again. The Alchemists can make the tempers, inks, and liquids but the Sage will make the Mage Scrolls and Patterns. You will need a Jeweler to make the vials.

No you can't make Suspensions and be happy for it. Any time you use a NPC Merchant you get around the 300% markup from buying from a player.. assuming you can find a player to make what you need at all. ;)

I woudnt try to work up to many crafters.. Yes, they are dependent on each other but its a real pain to work them all up. You will find most of your times wasted. I have a 45, 35, 30, and 20.. And honestly Only the 45 will ever get used again. The only exception being perhaps a Sage who realy needs a lot of help, and not a lot of players in the game to help them atm. ;)

Look at your server numbers, you will find there are a TON of alchemists (many of them bots) on most servers but almost no woodworkers.. For example. Adjust to fit your needs and try to get other people to supply you with common items.

First off, I can't say that I'm a high level crafter, I currently play a lvl 21 woodworker, a lvl 16 outfitter and a lvl 14 cook so I'm more of a mid level TSer, but I am making a decent living off of skill crafting here as I did in EQ, so I feel it's valid for me to offer my nickels worth of free advice!

First off, yes, I think you're on the right path. By choosing 2 different areas to specialize in, you will be able to take advantage of the overlap and have them craft for each other.

My cook makes food and drink for all 3 of my characters as well as making lots of goodies to sell. My leather worker has made backpacks for all three characters and my woodworker has made enough strong boxes to fill all three inventories and then some! I also stock backpacks and strongboxes on my trader every night and sell some every week.

My point is that you need to take a long view and not only craft what you need but also what you can sell. To that end, I think that making spell scrolls will end up being a very lucratve trade for you. Also, the sub combines, (pristine inks, paper etc.), should prove to be money makers.

Hope this helps... Good luck and good commerce to you!
