Account keysFollow

I notice that to activate a second EQ2 account you are asked for another registry key from your copy of EQ2.

Is there a way to buy a second key from SOE instead of needing the whole damn game again? I really don't need 2 of those boxes taking up space when all SOE has to do is sell me another CD key.

nope. Another way sony sponges as much cash as they can out of ya. Buy a box or live with only 1 account.

Note to Sony:

Hello. You could save money by offering account keys at a lower price than the retail game and still make a huge profit.

Oh well... I guess you'd rather not make any money...

Buy the game and throw the box out of the window after you write down the cd-key?

Hate to break it to you. The game costs, what, around $40 now? If they sold the key for say, $10... (which I'm guessing is the most people would pay just for the key) All they have to sell is one game to make as much as 4 people buying extra keys. Heck if they charged $20 for the key you'd be whinging about that, right?

And most people that want a second account just accept it and buy the second game. And most throw out the box (I would assume most people don't keep two copies), and keep the part that has the key written on it (if they are smart).

They are making HUGE money on this. I don't necessarily like it, don't get me wrong. But they are making bucks on this, its working, why would they change it?

My local electronics store has an entire set of shelves dedicated to just EQ1 and EQ2 boxes (as in, 4 shelves), and they just wouldn't devote that much shelf space if it wasn't selling like crazy.

Wait till the expansions start. I once calculated how much I spent on EQ1 with 4 accounts (2 people in house play) and all the expansions, just in a single year.

This online gaming thang ain't for the weak of pocket.

Its a middle class bread and circus, and you gotta pay your entry fees!(yea I know, poor and incorrect reference, but hey its my post :) )

This just in... the Naysayers say "Nay!"

Don't take me too seriously now, sheesh. You know what, I might just do that. At least the box will be recycled. *wink*

You could just buy a digital download and skip the downloading part.

edit: I could well be mistaken... I just assumed that since EQ is available and Sony doesn't usually miss a chance to make a buck that EQ2 would be too... Sorry if I caused a flutter in the heart!

Didnt know they had that, is it new? AFAIK you can only buy it in stores or online outlets, never heard of a eq2 digital download.

Nah I checked. EQ2 digital downloads are not available.

Bummer.

digital downloads and long free trials are always offered to dwindling outdated games. They try to keep people playing as long as humanly possible. But for new games they play gestapo and use the "buy another copy, biotch" stance.

Yup. :(

I for one will not stand for it, whether I want to 2 box or not.

Where's that credit card run off to?
