I have been looking for weeks, and talking to every high lvl 40+ SK I run into, and NOBODY has anything in a range slot. Paladins and use bow's, so was this just an oversite? Or are we SK's forced to always have one slot empty? Anyone hear anything, or have an item equiped in rage? Looking forward to responces.

Do Paladins use bows? I thought they couldn't.
dont think so, but it is quite unfair, hell if a SK uses a 2 hander we loose the stats that would be on a shield. plus we also dont get the stats for anything in ranged weapon slot either. SK's and Paladins get screwed on this deal. i belive all fighter classes get to use a bow except crusader, sk, paladin, personally i kinda felt if anything maybe they should stick in a magic foci for crusaders, SK's, Paladins, and mage class for the range slot just basically to give stats, hell they could even make it so you hold it out in your hand when u cast doesn't matter to me really what they do, but something needs to be done about it

What is a "ranged slot"?
If you have a bow then the game needs somewhere to equip it but what else could you put there? It is a slot for ranged weapons only. No ranged weapon - nothing in ranged slot.
The assorted odd body parts in a slot to give stats was a wierd concept in EQ anyway. Where is this "Stone of Focused Rage" (my old cleric has it in range slot) ? Presumably slung over my shoulder like a bow?

This is unfair. We dont have a ranged weapon. Maybe they could fix it and let us use bows. I've got a Stormfire bow which is nice that I could use.
thats kinda funny considering i never played eq1. the fact is something should go in the slot i really dont give a damn what it is its still a slot that most other jobs get to use which gives them additional stats. personally i figured the talisman thing went along with my sk since i do cast spells and it just seems like it would fit in. if you were a sk/pal runnin around using a 2hander you would be pretty damn pissed off too. at lvl 30+ your loosing around 20+ stat points by using a 2 hander and not gettin a ranged
