some help with tradeskill abilitiesFollow

#1 Feb 02 2005 at 11:44 PM Rating: Decent
ok im having hell with this tradeskill system i cant ever seem to get anything to make any better than the normal quality, pristine is like an impossible goal. Ive been trying un-successfully to create the quote "VERY EASY" app 3 spells and just about every other thing elm quils, ink, dye ya know stuff that shouldnt take a genious to do my character is a level 7 artisian and should have no problem with these combines but i can not seem to get it. Ive read the posts here reguarding the use of progress+ and durability+ spells/abilities but ah what the hell are the ones that give the +durability? the only skills i have seem to be ones that increase progress but decrease durability or power with a slight lowering of a successful chance which i deffinently dont need! PLEASE HELP!!

You cannot buff durability until you reach level 10 artisan and specialise.

You will find that one of your arts adds progress at the cost of power. This is the best you can hope for in Tier 1.

Remember also that the skill involved affects your chance of a good result each round. If you are trying to make the ink with poor Chemistry or the wood with poor Fletching then your chance of a good result is reduced.

Just to clarify 1 more point

You know you can not get a result better than your Primary (top most) ingredent.

Alchimist/scribe correct me if m ***** something up here but 1st you make a dye, that dye has to be pristine if you want pristine ink. If your dye is normal, you can not get any better than normal results on your ink.

Now when you make your spell/ability the only way to get app4 is to start with pristine ink. If you start with normal ink you will never get better than level 3 finished product. if you started with crude ink you will only get the 1st level of final product.

I am sorry if this is rehashing something you already were aware of, I just did't see any refernce to that possiblity above.
