I'm going to play EverQuest II but trying to determine the best server for me. I am a management consultant for a Swiss bank (mostly telecommuting from New York City), so my working hours tend to be in the evening and I play during the day (generally 10 am to 6 pm EST). And I spend the weekends having fun with real life friends.
So, what servers have an active, thriving population during the day time (EST) on weekdays? I'm especially interested at the high-end, as I will put in the hours to level, and would like to join a good guild and do raiding, questing in the like. Thanks much.

any server... this game is VERY populated. if you wanseted to go to a more "full" server go to one thats red (full).
Faydark is very empty.
Well Butcherblock is a fairly populated server. I'm never at a lack for a group. I hear Mistmoor is a heavily populated server, but it seems to be one of the ones constantly down.
Do not join Toxxulia if you plan on playing during the daytime. The server is pretty empty from say 7am-2pm ET.

yes i too have server problems as i came from eq1 so when i saw FULL i took it to mean full and since i couldn`t find any real info on the good and bad points of the diff servers i put 1 toon on each of 4 diff servers only to finally realize as i reached 12th lvl that only one of my servers have a decent amount of people on it and that one of mty evil toons is on a apparently almost empty and unfinished server where only about 40 % of npc speak the rest just balloon you and sometimes the creatures dont die at 0% health they just stand there lol

hmm.. well I have two characters on Toxx..
Qeynos is nicely populated... Freeport is pretty empty, though recently I've seen a few more people...than the norm.. However it's somewhat more difficult to get spells / combat arts without going to the black-market broker in Freeport...
Oasis is about mid-tier to higher end population, in Qeynos anyway.. can't say about freeport..
Crushbone is CROWDED.. and I mean heavily so.. to the point that I get lag regardless of being in Qeynos or Freeport

well najena is pretty well populated at all times. I cant remember a time when i got on it and it wasnt red ("full").
I appologize. I should have had my post regarding Toxxulia show that at least the freeport side is empty during the day. I don't play pie baker toons so I have no idea what the Qeynos side looks like around those times. I do know that most of the mid level zone's such as nektulos, thundering steepes, enchanted lands, and zek are pretty big barren wastelands during the middle parts of the day.
just as something to think about , bigger isnt always better .
I find myself wishing sometimes that my server was less populated when im having to wait to kill a named cause theres a camp line . So keep in mind that sometimes , having a crowded server also means having to wait for named mobs and competing for recource nodes ( like in ruins or sunken city )
