I have a host of them in my bank. When examining them, it says my skills are well matched. When I attempt to scribe them, I get the "You lack the knowledge to learn" message. What gives?

You are more than likely high enough lvl artisan to use the book but your skill with that book is not high enough. I noticed this when my scholor became a jewler and I tried to scrib the book of Alchemists so I could make the tempers and such. Wouldnt let me do it. This is how it makes the different artisans interdependant of one another.

that just means you are not proficient in that specific tradeskill. A Tailor cannot scribe a scholar book for example. I recommend putting them all up on auction and if you have Advance Scholar 20 you will make alot of money hehe. It is currently selling for as much as 20g on my server.

So, since I went outfitter, I cannot scribe a craftsman book? That blows. I wanted to participate in all tradeskills, but focus on armor/weapons.

sorry its not set up that way. I have a 23 alch, 22 armorer and a 23 provisioner because of this. Also I'm bringing up a leatherworker and a weaponsmith unless I can convince my guild to make one. Seems those 2 are few and far between in some circles.

That does indeed suck, but I thank you for confirming it for me. Ok, since I'm currently a level 10 Outfitter, I can only scribe Outfitter books?

Ok, another question. If I'm an outfitter, can I scribe the lower level artisan books still, or is it too late?

Cool, thank you very much. BTW, all the books I have currently are outfitter, weapon, and armorsmithing. Is there any specific reason that I cannot scribe the outfitter ones at present? They are advanced outfitter, not sure on the number of them. Do you have to scribe in order?
