2 people, same quest, different results?Follow

I have a question for the masses...

A friend and I (Trinidad, 16 Druid & Argentfury, 17 warrior -- ME0 obtained a Gnoll Killing Quest...
We both obtained the quest at the same time...
We set off killing Dankfur Gnolls and I would get a quest part and Trini wouldn't...
Med up, we kill another group and Trini gets the drop but I don't.. Then we both get a drop....

Whats this??? Its just too wierd.

I believe the quest drops are random meaning you and your friends wouldn't necessarily get drop at the same time, although it could be possible.

I've never seen that happen. I 2 box sometimes, and all the quests I did, if one char got a quest drop, the other did too. Not saying it can't happen, but I have never seen it.

That's one of the cool things about EQ2, if a quest bit drops, everyone in the group gets it. At least so I thought. Wonder if its a bug, or a rare condition, or if this is indeed the way its supposed to work?

Anyone else ever see this?

I'm not sure cuz sometimes the whole group got dros and sometimes didn't. Would that be quest dependent?

Drops that updates a quest will drop for everyone that has that quest and is on that stage. If not your experiencing a bug.
However, questtrigger drops, like hill giant idol, will drop one at a time.
Are you sure you both got the same excact quest? There are several quests you can get from NPCs that gives you diffrent instruction randomly. I think all theese quests are repeateble.
Like 'Threat reduction' in Zek, you can get orders to kill grunts, catapulters or raiders for example.

I might be wrong but Im pretty certain this is how it (is supposed) to work.
