I just left WoW uninstalled the game and broke the discs. I have heard a lot about this game and I am wondering whats the good and down sides and more about the game from personal experiences. Any info please?

Why don't you tell us what you hated about WoW. That will give us a better idea if you would like EQ2 or not Smiley: smile

Well what I hated about wow is the crappy support and the ability to get suspended if you say damn. I hated the GMs in wow

well EQ2 has the bennifit of a prophanity filter, thus as long as you are not being beligerant you can curse pretty much as you wish. Dont be an ***, but the ocasionaly placed curse word in open zone wide type chat channels are usualy ok. Cursing in /tell or group chat or guild chat is not GM regulated, it is regulated by the people participating, again exercise tact ( if thats realy possible to do while swearing ) but no one is realy going to stop you, and you wont get banned for it.
#5REDACTED, Posted: Jan 29 2005 at 1:04 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) WoW also had the profanity filter which is the ******** reason why I Think getting suspended for cussing is stupid. They chose to see the cuss word its their fault.

wrong, youll get banned in eq2 for cussing also. probably get a few warnings, but if you are a kiddy that likes to cuss up a storm you wont find a home here either.

Given that "cussing" in a MMO requires typing the words which has to be premeditated rather than spontaneous I don't think there is much excuse for it. If you hit your thumb with a hammer you might swear out loud but you are highly unlikely to type the same thing.

From the GM-hatred and fondness for swearing I'd guess you got pulled up and tried swearing at the GM. They kind of dislike that.

Anyway my server is very strict on swearing so stay the hell away from it

I think EQ2 has a good mix of things to do for both the 'casual' player and the'hardcore' player. The problems I've encountered have been quickly and professionally resolved by CS. There are still a few gameplay issues but for the most part the servers have been pretty good (if you can stand a quick downtime everymorning).

As far as the profanity goes, the filter works pretty well. I definately agree, it is far easier just to scream out a stream of cuss words in the privacy of your own home than to type it in.

You get what you put into a MMO, if you're going to be confrontational and belligerant then you should expect the worst.

Was it like you said "damn, look at that sweet sword" in a chat channel then got insta-banned? That would be ridiculous, and I wouldn't blame you for not going back.

Somehow, I think there must be more to the story. If I'm right, I don't think you're going to have any better of a time with EQ2.

Honestly the only MMO I know of where you can just run wild with no restrictions is on a "public" UO server.
