Ok here's my question, Can a person of, say Qeynos, enter the Commonlands in Freeport and get quests from NPC's there. I'm asking because i want to know if it's possible for good characters to get the Badlands Stiletto without doing betrayal. I'm trying to figure out what city and race i should begin my soon to be rogue in. I want to be swashbuckler but those badlands stilettos look like pretty nice gear so i'd want to pick them up for my char.

Nope....you cannot enter Freeport if you are from the other city. Same goes for the opposite.

The question was not can he enter Freeport, but rather can he enter the Commonlands. AFAIK, yes you can (although I may be wrong), the only problem is that in order to reach them, you will have to be rather high up in level as the only way to do so will be to make your way through the other zones to them. There is no direct connection such as the Mariner's Bell or the Sewers. If there are any high levels out there who know for sure, just jump on in and correct me if I'm wrong. Smiley: smile

You can go to the Commonlands even if you started in Qeynos and not Freeport. You would have to go through Thundering Steppes to the docks, zone over to Nektulos forest, and go to the zone in to Commonlands. Once there you can do quests with all the NPC's I've talked to. Granted, for me that's just Kregnok (sp) for his axe. I would assume that most the NPC's are the same.

Getting into FP is difficult, but not impossible, and if caught the guards just throw (zone) you out.

*edit cuz I'm dumb, and my grammer is bad.

yes, in fact I've done it.. my predator was in the commonlands and finished a quest and got the badlands stiletto.. Since my conjuror (from Qeynos) was in the commonlands on the same server I did the same quest, got a second dagger.. loaded my taller half's character on the other computer and used them as a trading post to get the dagger to my predator..

and violla!!! now I have two badlands stiletto's dual wield. ^_^

now, what it took to get my conjuror to the commonlands: Invisible.. and being careful. Even at 21st level if any group mob along the way would have spotted me it would have been time to run or die... the weakest I saw in Nek forest that could detect me despite my spell was double arrow white...

The Thundering Stepps is pretty easy... it's Nek forest that will be the real test... without some type of sneak or invisible spell it'll be a rather risky run. Good Luck.. course you could always search for a high lev. xp'ing in the area and see if they'll group with you while you're there.

Sorry read that wrong last night, Yes you can enter the commonlands and any zone around it. The problem is entering the main city. YOU CANNOT ENTER THE MAIN CITY. argue that fact as much as you want, but in the end your still wrong. You may be able to enter the refugee cities but Freeport itself is off limits to non-citizens. Hence the citizen quest. Thats all I was getting at.

I can also see where I could have been more specific about the access. I did mean the outside zones, not the 3 city proper zones themselves. These zones are generally considered Freeport as well however, and even when clicking on the bells you have to choose the bells that say "Travel within freeport" in order to access them.

So both are correct. You can get into the "newbie" starter zones, and you can't get into the city proper zones.

I'm sorry but apparently that just isn't true.

From the "Key to Fallen Gate" quest on the site here.

**Qeynos Access: Thanks to Posters **
The best way to sneak into this area is to get to the Commonlands Dock and use the bell to head to Temple Street. There there, sneak to the Thieve's Way manhole and move through the sewers to the North Freeport grate. Kanos X'Aphon should be nearby after zoning in.

So according to those posters Qeynosians can use the Thieves Way to get into the city proper. And at least two of them say that's how they did it so it's not just conjecture.

I am due to start a new alt soon. I'll see if I can beat the Citizenship quest that way in Qeynos. Smiley: smile
