The harvesting tools are a leftover from beta. They are not needed nor do they work.

I have one and the only thing I have noticed is that it takes up a slot in my invintory and thats about it :P

I bought one on the Isle of Refuge, thinking it must give me bonus skill points when mining or increasing success rates. I've been carrying it on my character ever since. It makes me doubly angry that I paid 2 silver for it. It's one thing to have mobs drop useless loot that good only to sell, but it's quite another when you have a merchant selling the item and in a newbie zone at that!

Oh well. I guess I'll sell it when I log on next and free up some inventory space. I'm glad I decided not to buy the whole collection of trade tools though, because I almost did, and that's a lot of silver pieces for a newbie character!

I love this game and there's no way in heck I'm leaving anytime soon, but I do agree with the previous poster, I really wish that SOE would put more effort in to fixing AND cleaning up the current game before concentrating as much effort as they currently do, on creating new things.

One of those things that I wouldn't complain much about. If people complain to SOE they will just require you to carry all that crap with you to harvest stuff. That is there idea of fixing things lol.

It is kinda silly having this stuff for sale, especially in Isle of Refuge. I almost ended up buying the stuff but I realized I didn't need it to harvest and I wanted armor so I didn't.
