Bug or just SoE logic?Follow

#1 Jan 27 2005 at 2:01 AM Rating: Decent
Ok I was playing around today on my gimpy lil lvl 14 summoner and I noticed that when I engage an enemy I get a negitive power per tik. I would have around a -6 power regen while meleing and 0 while siting around. Everyone I talked to that was not a summoner including a sorc (seeing if it was mage only) said they never had that happen. Now what I would like to know is:

Am I the only one experiencing this?
Is it for summoners only?
What causes this?(pet maby?)
Should we riot the streets if this is just SoE logic?

I can almost understand not having a power regen during a fight but having it be negitive... thats just wrong...
I plan on trying to look into this more and updating what I find but Im really too lazy.

Ok I found out (most proly know this but Im a newb shhh) that our pet buff, the burnout like spell, takes our power over time. Its very annoying but seeing as it gives a 20/tik or so pet regen it is worth it when soloing still.

I dont see why it is a fair chunk of power up front and then overtime but thats the soe logic.

Hello.

31 Conj here, and i can tell you that, yes, if you use your pet buffs, you will loose power over time to your pet. For agitation this allows him to regen a bit of hp per second as well as regain power that he uses. Your provication buff, however will take a bit more power (and yes they both stack) and will heal your pet for about 55 hp per second as long as the buff lasts.

Eating food that is yellow to blue to you will help you regain this loss fairly easily tho, also keep in mind you can siphon power from your pet, so it really is not that big of a hit.

I do have to say this tho: Buffing your pet for a standard group enoucnter is a waste, he is best used as a backup tank (esp after lvl 20) and unless you are fighting a named, buffing your pet just wasts power and time. Also you do not want your pet taking aggro in group encounters if you have a solid tank already in the group, it is not a good thing.

If you solo, always buff tho, as your pet will be happy to take aggro form you whenever possible :)

Not to worry tho lol the more you siphon out of your pet, and the more you heal him, the more you can siphon some more lol when you get up mroe in lvl you get instant vim as well as essnece shift (both of which transfer power for you, 1 from pet and 1 from you.) So running out of power is not a worry :) Your gonna love your new pets too lol
