I am just wondering what the big difference is when you upgrade the various grades of a spell? Like for example last night I managed to finnally scribe myself lightning blast app 3. I had been using app 2, so it was a small upgrade.
Anyways as far as the actual damage goes it does seem to be any higher? With app 2 I was doign about 21 to 30 damage, and now I am doing the same.
I also noticed this when I upgraded my begorgeing earth from app 1 to app 4, it does not seem to do any more damage? I notice it takes longer to cast and has a neater visual to it, but damage wise it don't seem any different?

Hmm - my Fury scholar twinked my little mage - on IoR he had app 3 lightning, chains and ae lightning waiting for him. I think I did 50 percent more damage. He could nuke the crap out of the goblins - it wasn't funny. He could even solo those tough ^ snakes - he'd have to whittle em down w/ root and dot - but then he could chew em up w/ nukes fast.
Now he's a summoner. Just got adept 1 seism. App 1 Seism or whatever I started w/ did about 7 to 11 pts per pulse, about like static pulse. But the upgrade does ... 12 to 15 or something? Maybe not quite that good, but way better than the early one.
Okay, it has been said that if you upgrade a spell that cons "low" or blue or green to you, u will notice very little difference. Your skill is so high at that point that it may very well out-influence the upgrade. But upgrading spells that are orange or yellow to u seems to make a HUGE difference.
Again, I think I've seen about a 50 percent increase in performance going from App 1 to App 3 alone. Your mileage may vary.
