Dirty Tricks vs CornerFollow

I recently received the ability Corner, and was wondering if it was basically a better version of Dirty Tricks. The description of each says it lowers the defenses of the creature for a short period, but Corner is also ranged. Not having an Adept version of Dirty Tricks, it is a gray skill to me. When using it in Thundering Steppes, it only lasts a second or two, if even sticking at all. Corner will stick, at least until someone else debuffs the mob. I took out Dirty Tricks from my hotbar and replaced it with Corner, but I just wanted to know if any higher level Rangers still used DT.
