If you go into the big open building that looks like it's under construction, (it's across from the pier with the bells), You'll find a guy who will register you as any one of the three disciplines. you makes your choice and you takes your chances! It's that simple.

It's in the book you got with the game and the help section under artisan in case you forget when you log in.

the name is Alfred Ironforge.

I believe the Last name of the NPC for the Tradeskill advancement is Ironforge, and to advance after you hit level 20 you will see another NPC ....only this one will be a lady by the last name of Ironforge, and she is behind the merchants just as you leave the Dock area in QH....look near the steps of the building on your right as you come thru those large Arches at the dock, and behind the merchant tents....The other guy for level 10 is as they said previously in the open building on the docks, near the end that is closest to the water....Good Luck.

Alethea Augustine, West Freeport does not issue a class selection quest. There is no quest as such, she merely asks you to register the class u want - Outfitter, Scholar or Craftsman.

Also - if you have sufficient exp to ding 10, you will not ding until you have crafted one more item after speaking to Alethea. Spent way too much time looking around before I realized this little factoid.
