I have been wondering i was planning on getting back into the EQ game but i am trying to figure out is EQ2 better than EQ or do alot more people still play EQ rather than EQ2. i am jsut trying to see if more people are playing EQ 2 now or still playing EQ.

Thanks

Depends on your EQ1 toons level, low level <below 65> is pretty sparse. 65-70 and there are loads of people.

I guess it depends on what you enjoy in an MMORPG. If you're a hardcore powergamer looking for lots of big 72 person raids that take 6 hours to finish, then i'd recommend EQ1. If you're more of a casual gamer that likes questing and solo/duo/small group content, i'd lean towards EQ2 (as i have personally done). Graphically EQ2 has more to offer as it's newer, although there is less content for that same reason. I think both games are great so either way you should be able to find what you're looking for.

That is neither fair nor accurate.

I play EQ solo, duo and with friends at low level and have a great time. The lore is rich and there are plenty of quests albeit harder to figure out and complete (some actually take skill)

And EQ2 is increasingly not a solo/duo game. It can be played solo but more and more we are running into places that can only be entered in groups. Or quests that require groups to complete.

What level would you have to be to solo AQ1?

To the OP:
If you are social and looking for something new then EQ2 would probably suit well. EQ is a bit opaque by todays standards. If you played it before you might be ok.

I have to agree with Cobra101. I just did my first AQ1, and was a little shocked when I realized I could not have done something this elementary to my character without a group.

It's not like I couldn't solo the creatures, they are green and grey at 20, the problem was I could not kill them fast enough to keep the grounds cleared for the eldars to spawn. I had been trying to clear the grounds for days with no successful eldar spawns, but as soon as I tried with a group, I had the quest completed in 1/2 an hour.

EQ2 is definitly soloable, you are just limited to content for soloists, which greatly limits the games playability.

I misread something. Gah.

You can pay a hair more and have access to both old and new eq - plus other SOE games. I'd go for that.
