Another Paladin questionFollow

#1 Jan 22 2005 at 12:51 PM Rating: Decent
I know the grass is always greener on the other side but I have a question.

Will I ever be able to use a tower shield I am level 27 Paladin and don't have the ability and I see a berserker level 28 with a tower shield.

Our dps as a paladin isn't close, our heals and wards are next to useless, we can't hold agro over a berserker, but hey we get a horse that everyone but me seems to think is fast.

We are obviously a defensive tank and they are offensive as our spells are all geared to protect, but then why do they get 200 more ac and use the same shield as a gaurdian.

Not saying Paladins should get the same shields but then why do berserkers?

Because the abiity to use a tower shield is from the warrior class. Since both berserkers and guardians are from the warrior class, they get the certs for tower shields.

Paladins are also from the fighter class, so that argument doesnt hold much water. The more pertinent question might be then, why does the paladin have the skill to use tower shields removed when they become one? I would have to agree with grumpass as my Pally is often outtanked by Guardians and mostly ends up as a bit of a spare part in groups. Im not complaining. When the only tank in a group I do perfectly well. Just an observation.

Cheers,
Minky

The only time I have not been main tank, as a ShadowKnight, is when there is a fighter class higher in level then me, and even then I've had some people doing such a crappy job that people in the group just send me a tell asking if I could 'accidentally hold aggro' instead of the other person. =p
