Hello all,
Got a quick question, Is there a way to get your name to be over your character? As you run around and you can see everyone elses name, I personally like to see my own name. Those who played FFXI know what I'm talking about. Not a big deal, just one of those 'little things'. I tried to browse through the options menu and didn't see anything. I might have missed something, there is a lot of stuff there =D.

If you are in 3rd person mode and if you have selected that option on the video tab of options, then you can see your character's name over his/her head... mine appears in green...

Yeah I only play in 3rd person, I don't like 1st person that much. Do you know exactly where that option is located, under alt+O? and then Video? lol..I know it might seem obvious, I'm not at my computer right now, I'm at work so I'm just trying to get a general idea so when I get home I can set it. Sorry.
Oh and also...I can click my name (while in third person) thats up in the upper left hand corner and THEN my name will be over my head, but as soon as I click on something else it goes away. I want it there, ALL the time, like permanent.

Pressing f1 selects your toon. That is the only way that i've been able to see my name.
Ya in third person i never see my name unless i press f1. Dunno if you can turn an option on anywhere.

Yes, sorry, wish I could help ya, but I do not think that there's an option that can do that for ya. I've went through almost ALL options and customized the game as I liked it and never saw anything of that sort. I like it better that way myself. And you get to post from work? How much I envy you ^.^

I'm with Administration though, I run their pay and whatnot.
Oh well about the name over the head, maybe I can email the developers and suggest it...couldn't possibly be that hard of a code to add-in.

Anything is worth a shot. I know it's hard, but not impossible to change soe's mind with certain things. I remember times in the past where people complained and soe fought tooth and nail to keep it their way.. but the customer's always right =p.
i'm almost positive there is an option for that somewhere.. I'll check now...

This is very strange. I didn't know you could turn the name off. My name has been visible since the beginning. It shows my full name, title and guild above my head at all times. I want to turn it off sometimes. Anyway it looks just like this

Hey El, I just figured mine out and I will help you too.
Do Alt+O (not zero) and go to user interface, then look under the chat bubbles..something with bubble in it, and then where it says 'For Self' choose never, I chose Always, cause I always wanna see it.
