PlayerMade Vs. Droped GearFollow

Ever since I started playing EQ2 I've been interested in the trade skills and how they work. Some say boring, others say more interactive (as apposed to EQ1).
Now I've been looking at some of the Armor that has dropped in game from quests or chests and so far it seems like the best armor in this game is still from adventures (Drops or Quests). Which is ok it's nice to get a nice upgrade from a difficult quest or hard to kill mob but I was under the impression that the best gear in the game was supposed to be player made.
Am I jumping the gun here maybe the best player made gear hasn't been discovered yet or maybe nobody has been able to find the nice rare trade skill scrolls yet and there components yet?

The artisan levels correspond to adventuring levels for the most part. Example: The carbonite armor I make from 20-29 armorer is best suited for level 20-29 adventurers.

The equipment made from the "advanced" scrolls all require a rare resource, and those are pretty darn rare. Most, perhaps all, of the equipment made from the rare resources is attuned. This is why you won't see alot of it on bazaars - it requires a rare resource and once attuned to a player cannot be sold/traded again.

This is a very rough list, since the "best" item for each class for each level range could be different, but typically I have found item quality best-to-worse something like:

Heritage Quests
Advanced Quests (AQ, Collection, multi-part, etc)
Player Made (Advanced/Rare)
Player Made
Chest Drop (Named encounter npc)
Basic Quest
Chest Drop (normal encounter npc)
Store Bought

I have found that player made items are better then dropps in the game at the same lvl but not better then some quested items of the same lvl.

It doesnt really matter, Sony went out of their way to make sure everything is more or less balanced. =(

depends on the gear..

lots of your more common drops are simply not nearly as good as player made gear (if the gear is normal or pristine quality) unless it's a drop from a named mob.

that said, if a dropped item is useful to you.. use it until you can find something better.. I stumbled across a player made robe on the broker that had insane stats.. (particularly the +80~ish poison resistance) and bought that for a little over 60 silver...

However, Quested gear can easily rival or surpass player made gear of the same level..

I've found that dropped and quested gear is indeed better than player-made gear...but not by much. For example... T5 crafted very light pantaloons have 3 less INT than pantaloons dropped off a group x2 mob in Permafrost. The resists and other stats are also better on the dropped legs. I've noticed this with most of the other slots and jewelry as well.
