#1 Jan 18 2005 at 12:08 PM Rating: Decent
OH i just can't wait. I finally went out and bought EQ2. Now

just a little bit longer and i will be playing. The reason for

the long wait is that i have been traveling(moving) from state

to state to see where i would like to settle down for a bit.

Well i have found my spot got a place and as soon as i get in

moved in on the 29th i will be calling for them to hook up the

cable modem. Woot... Well any how i am really happy.

Just a few more questions.

I read that you can change your toon from good to evil or visa

versa. How is this done and why?

Is the new rat race a good race to play?

What class is mostly needed in the game?

Which server is a good one to go with. I have seen that there

is evil and good servers. What is the differance in the

two? other that one is good and one is evil? Lol...

I will probably come up with more questions. Till then thank

you so very much for you help..

you change from good to evil or vice versa by the betrayl quest.. you must start it at about 15th level, once you ding 18th you cannot do it anymore.. (most people stop their XP at 15th while doing the quest)

reason for doing it is to play a class no offered in your city.. for example: Paladin.. is only available in Qeyons.. so to be a Troll pali, you would need to start in freeport, betray at 15th lev, and become a pali at 20th level.

honestly which server to go with is up to you, though I tend to like the less populated servers... as far as the RP servers being named after good or evil characters.. no major difference. I had a character on Antonia Bayle server and it was nifty, but not nearly as much RP as I had hoped for so I just redid that character on crushbone to play with friends.

So do you have a class at the get go or do you kind of just

choose what you would like to be along the way?

See the subject 'shortage of who?'
plenty of really helpful answers there.

you have your starting architypes, which you'll choose upon setting foot on the island. At 10th level (well 9th actually) you'll do a quest to progress along a path.. once you choose a path, at 18 to 20th level you'll quest again to advance farther... for example let's use my Conjuror.

when she was on the island.. she was just another mage.. at 9th level I did the hallmark quest and just before your final test in that quest you are given three choices, I selected Summoner and went into the final test..

at this point after finishing that test she's on the summoner path.. and will at 18th level have two choices: Conjuror or Necromancer.. but to be a necro I would have to betray Qeynos. Since I had no desier to be a Necromancer.. I simply continued on my merry way.. and at 18th level finished the hallmark quest.. at 20th level her class changed from Summoner to Conjuror.

now had I wanted to become a Necro then I would have begun the betrayl quest at 15th level and made my way to freeport..

class wise EQ2 is a linear progression.. so really you should ask the question of "what do I want to be at 20th level" which will determine what you select as your class in the beginning.

so with my characters it goes something like this:

Iaini - mage >> summoner >> Conjuror
Juri - mage >> enchanter >> at 20th will be a Coercer
Nerris - scout >> predator >> at 20th will be an Assassin
Symbol - priest >> cleric >> at 20th will be an Inquisitor

I just finished betraying. I got to about 16.75 when I began the quest by talking to Silus. When I finished the quest I was well into 17. My buddy banked so much experience that when he finished it he skipped over 18 and went right to 19.
