The Tortoise or the Hare?Follow

Answering an earlier post set me to thinking about my playing style....
I'm thoroughly enjoying plodding along exploring every nook and cranny and doing every quest. I rarely look at my levelling rate. I've started 6 alts experimenting with various race/class/skill combinations and am bringing them all along at roughly the same pace. This has created lots of opportunity for sharing finds and using complementary crafting skills to support each other. It's forcing me to think more deeply about what each character needs before deciding whether I will sell or share loot and crafted goodies. Some are better at earning money than others and they are acting as bankers by buying the others their necessary goodies now and again.

What's the general preference out there....are you mostly tortoises like me or fleet footed bunnies on the levelling grind?

I'm definitely a tortoise. I don't have a whole lot of play time, and when I do get on, leveling is not my main concern. I do quests, tradeskill, or just run around and explore. I doubt I'll see level 50 before the first expansion comes out.

I am the same way....slowly moving through the world, and enjoying every minute of it. Having so many options of things to do is what makes this game great for me.

I cant play as much as I would like so when I do log in I focus on one adventure char . I do have a cook that I work on to get the food and drink for my main char , but I only work with her when I need food and drink or when nothing is going on for my main . I do have days where my group just messes around finishing quests or stuff like that , but I just love playing my chanter so much any alt time has me thinking of what I could be doing for my chanter LOL. Maybe once my chanter is 50 ( if I hit that before they raise it) I will play an alt .

I feel like I sometimes burn thru the levels so fast and other days it seems like I really take my time LOL . I logged in on Saturday and had little to ding so I knew I would get that level but I figured that was it . Well I ended up dinging 2 times that day , just messing around with friends , not really trying to get exp but doing some quests .

Somedays I have the get to 50 now thoughts , and then others I am happy I took the time to see as much per level as I did. I guess I kinda go with the flow of my reg play group , some days we push it to get an extra level and others we are happy doing very little .

I'm a pretty casual player.. so I'd have to say Tortoise. I have friends on Crushbone who are breeching 40th level now.. but my highest is only 21st..

working on getting my duo character back up to 14th since I did a delete and re-created her... though I think I'm the only person who enjoys the lower levels.. :-\

I am very much a tortoise, i have an overall game goal that will see 4 toons at the top level eventually, i don't much care how long it takes and so long as i have a good time i will not be bothered if i don't do it.

And thats just the 4 Good side toons i have.....

My wife is more of a hare, but she has to wait for me to catch up sometimes and goes into a frenzy of tradeskilling and quests while i drag my sorry *** back to her level.

We are both betraying 1 charicter either way.

I am taking a Ratoga Rogue one way and sending a Dwarf cleric the other. She is doing a dark elf ranger and woodelf Assasin.

I think we play them more than any other toons..

Strange what motivates people isn't it.

Yet another tortoise here. I tend to play in short bursts, two or three hours a night and so far that hasn't hampered my enjoyment or involvement in the game.

My sessions seem to have become focused around doing a single different *thing* each time I play. One evening I might tradeskill, the next I'll solo. The night after that I might do some questing or find a group.

I have noticed that it is really quick & easy, (also fun), to find a duo or a trio instead of a full group. These mini groups have proven perfect for the lower end content, (like working the bears in Oakmyst), and if we all grab the same quest(s) or task(s), everyone profits which is great!

There are so many interesting options that the game has yet to become a grind for me.

I started my 3rd character last night and was able push him from the island to citizenship in a couple of hours without breaking a sweat, so maybe I went rabbit last night... but I'm ok now... I swear!

Another tortoise here. So far I took a sorcer to 15adv./9art. then rerolled and now I have my main. A level 21warlock/14scholar, and my permanent alt a level 10crusader/4artisan. I have leveled other characters, but these are the ones I like the best. I plan on taking my warlock all the way and have my crusader--->>Paladin right behind him. I am sure it will take me a long time, but I am in no hurry right now.

Turtoise. On my off days I try my best to get at least 1 lvl, and my highest is now 24. (got almost all of 24 done today fighting Giants in TS). It's been a lot of fun, and I think if I rushed it it wouldn't be half as fun.

I am not really sure what I am yet. I am only level six and have only spent about twenty hours in game doing tradeskilling and the such on IoR. Im thinking I must be a tortoise but, I'm a newbie so oh well :P
