I don't have EQ2, I just came here to make a post on the EQ2 vs WoW thread. After I posted, I looked around on some of the different threads and man, you guys are alot more mature then the players on the official WoW boards....damn B.net kids. I wish the players in WoW could could share in the maturity you guys have.

Well I just got here myself so I will exclude myself from the free 'props' there.

But I too noticed that coming from the FFXI forums. It was ugly there. Rating Trolls etc, crying, yelling, spamming, etc;

Here it seems like you can actually find what your looking for, help others out, and chat generally.

Awesome job over here EQ2 peoplez!! =D

kensi your aviator or whatever the heck its called? hope those b*st*rds stop rating you down. yes maturity drew me to eq2 rather than say ff because it can get really tedious reading 'yeah, and your mom's......' etc!!!

i think eq2 is targeted at the older more experienced gamer tbh. WoW is good for the casual gamer, but you'll find the hardcore MMORPG'ers here :P

No more hardcore crap for me, after FFXI with all the >.< and ^^ and ^-^ crap, and oh yeah and ^_^; I'm burnt out. I know most of you don't understand this, it's kind of an inside FFXI thing, but if you seen that South Park episode where the japanase take over the US with that Pokemon crap. You know, the one where all the american kids fall in love with that japanese toy, so they all pretend to be japanese, and etc. Well, that's FFXI in a nutshell. Seriously, that game was tough, too tough for me.

The maturity level, particularly on the RP server Antonia Bayle, is the main reason i'm staying on board as opposed to WoW. Not everyone roleplays but with the exception of a small minority, most people seem civil and adult. I'm not discriminating based on age, it's just a number (i'm old but am not in bed by 10pm, lol). I've heard WoW horror stories about the hordes of d2 leet-speakers who all come across as being preteens. You would not be able to pay me to play in that kind of environment.

Doom,

Just because people did ^^ and ; ; and stuff doesn't make it immature. The japanese have their own way for doing =D and stuff. I particularly liked it seeing as how it was new to me so I stopped the whole =D and did ^^. Matter of fact ^^ seems more mature and a more indepth way to express a smile rather than =D which is rather cliche and AOLish.

Thanks,
Slyone

If this board grows to resemble the EQ board we will be in great shape. Allas EQ board was by far the best resource for EQ anywhere on the net.

I will have to agree with you on this one. This has been one of the most pleasurable forums that I like visiting time, time again.

For the most part I try to provide some sort of helpfull information in most of my posts. I think the general population here does the same. Occasionally some people get into hissy fits, but not to any large degree. I try to stay out of childish arguments, but sometimes I just can't help myself when I see a chance to point out how someone is beeing an *** about something. >=)

I wish EQ2 had the translator. Start typing hit tab and phrase pops up! Politeness by convenience lol. th[tab]

{Thanks for the offer, but I'll have to pass.}

I loved that one :)

I have been more impressed by the EQ2 Forum community than that on the WoW side, but now that I'm not going to be playing EQ2 for a while, I suppose I'll have to make do. Smiley: glare

People over here seem far less concerned with getting attention and raising their karma ratings. Over on the WoW side, there are a lot of attention whores. Oh well.

It was nice posting with you all. I'll certainly check back from time to time, especially if I come back to EQ2 (which I imagine that I will, as soon as my life becomes a bit less busy).
