Posting here beacause I figure the general boards are viewed more than the off topic.

Im having this strange problem on this computer, and the other one on my lan. For the ;ast 2 days I have only been able to view websites I vist often, alla, eq2 official forums, ebay, and a few others; but im unable to look at other websites, like ebgames.com, my guilds website and more. Sometimes I can't even view the ones I visit often, it says Page unavailable. I just hit refresh and sometimes it works, but never on other sites. I know im online because, well im posting this. The other computer can visit sites mine cant, and vice versa. It also gives me an error when opening outlook express, I just close it and try again and it sometimes works. I also get an error on FFXI when I try to log in after entering my password, again I rety try multiple times and finally get on and the game runs fine.

My IP provider is road runner, I have checked their homepage to see if my local service was downed, but it just says it had problems on the 14th, and mine started last night the 16th. It even shows the 19th as being down, weird eh? Ive checked for viruses, adware, spyware but both comps are clean. Anyone have any clue as to what can help me? Ive done all I know to do, no one I know can provide any usefull info. I really hope I get this fixxed before I get eq2 running.

Now it is doing something very new...it pops something up between every website I visit. It says, "Scripts are usually safe, do you want to allow scripts to run?" WTF does that mean... never did that before, any help...GREATLY appreciated. Im running avg once again hoping its nothing.

Hey there I know a good bit about computers but when it comes to programs ..uhh I dunno.

Sometimes when I run into this same issue I just clear cache, delete cookies and offline files.

I believe that with IE you set a certain amount of space for IE to use in its temp folder or something and then when you reach that amount it just won't load anything new.

Hence why your pages you visit commonly are showing, because its already been cached.

Try going to IE, tools, internet options, then looking around for clear cache and delete cookies etc;

Sorry if that doesn't help you.

Try getting adaware and spybot search and destroy if you don't already have them. You might have some wierd embedded bug. If neither of these can solve it, a reformat can't hurt. =)

Thats a no go for deleting cookies, Same problem as before, and lost my saved passwords :p It really must be something about my connection, same thing on both comps I have on my lan, and when trying to download something online(tried getting netscape 7.2) it kept saying no connection available, while I know good and well im connected.
