Problems making money!Follow

#1 Jan 17 2005 at 9:53 AM Rating: Decent
Im a lvl 22 Beserker and I've only made 250sp in total! I sell all my old gear and only make 2-3 sp per item, most quests only give you a couple of sp if that. I don't have time to go up in crafting and I don't want to leave my computer on all night to sell crafting scrolls. Please tell me there is another way to make money?

All good gear now costs 30sp+ just for one piece of good armour!(I know about the aq quests ive done 2 but need to find a decent group to get the rest)I dont own any adepts because they cost ridiculous amounts of gp for the good ones.

I say its tough, very tough. I also say at your level most good gear cost 1gp+, atleast on Faydark.
What I do recommend though is that you dont focus so much on leveling, search for quests that gives gear reward you need and do the quests. The quests in this game are actually fun and very good rewarding!
Another thing I can recommend is that you browse the market and keep the stuff that sell for big cash and try and keep your computer online once a week with full inventory selling only the real expensive things and sell them alot cheaper then all others so you get rid of most stuff in a few hours.

Thats all I can think of atm >.<

I am by no means rich. But I have 16g on me and buy what I want, when I want it. Had that by the time I was 16. Become a supplier. You are high enough level to harvest stuff in Antonica and Thunderring Steppes. Get your skills high (all of em maxed) and go fill your bags with stuff. Sell it at night and make lots 'o' cash.

This is how I did it.

I have 16g. But I also have recently purchased new armor, all Pristine tanned boiled leather? I think. and have all app3 or adept 1 skills. Plus good weapons. And all 8 slot bags cept my adventurer pack which is 12 I think. Anyway, not trying to brag just saying what I have so you see the power of being a supplier like me.

There are many other ways to make money, this one suits me. But you can make a hell of a lot more than me crafting..

You might try auctioning off your stuff instead of setting up an unattended store. Fill up your bags, head for a popular zone and use the auction channel or even /ooc to sell the stuff while you're soloing or lfg.

1) Merchant Mode is your friend. Use this to get better prices for some items you can't auction fof quickly.

2) Broker is your friend. Use the broker to look and compair different gear, then GO to that location and buy directly to avoid the 20% Markup

3) Harvest Materials. Doesnt sound like much, but once you start harvesting t3 and up, it starts out around a silver per item up to 15 silver+. If you get a rare, you can easily pull in a 40-60 gold on one item.

I have always made good cash in the game. Have found several rares in the game harvesting tho some of them are not worth crap at least they don't sell. And once you can hit FG and NF you can bring in some good cash just selling vender trash. Heck yard trash by the ZI in NF drop items that sell for 11s and up.

The above posters are right, but note that the $ you get harvesting has taken a serious setback due to the recent nerf. Maybe the above posters are aware of this and maybe markets are recovering now. But in the week after the nerf harvested stuff that sold for 30 to 60 copper each or more was down to 5 copper or so. One person said tier 3 stuff sells better, maybe it does. One person said to find a uber rare tier 3 and u got 40 to 60 gold - yes - but man, it's crazy-rare. Harvest, and do pay attention to what u harvest - but don't count on it. That's like winning the lotto (sorta).

I ahven't checked normal tier 3 harvestable prices in a while. Again, maybe they are coming back up.

Artisaning just got harder, at least for making app 3 stuff. It's only a good way to make $ if yer willing to work.

You can solo green ^^'s and hope to get artisan books and adept 1s, many of which sell well on the player merchant system. Hang on to the ? you pick up- some are only worth copper to ohter players , but some sell for high silver or even gold. I've seen erudin coins for sale for several gold - not sure if that's normal or if people buy at that lvl - but rare bones sell well. Even spotted and striped butterflies sell ok. GL

Man I wish they where the same! Hehehehe I would play the lotto every day then. So far in 24 levels I have found 2 corals, 2 lapis (sp) 2 Blacken ores and 1 silver oar so thats not to bad I think anyhow. Not enough to get rich on but ok.

As far as T3 harvests have not really harvested in there much just a herbs and roots for quests just got my mining and forest skills high enough to do T3 I will let you know.

For T3 you need them all on 90 except Foresting needs 95.

also.. since you're harvesting, you may as well get a tradskill quest.

I did a T3 tradeskill quest for gold ore and got 48 silver O_O.. in addition to the silver made selling the ore that night in merchant mode.

What do you need money for?

Get your gear from quests, or make yourself a Amourer.

But seriously money is pretty much irrelevant in the game unless YOU let it be relevant.

There is a reason why better gear is not availible to you, it's beacuse it would make it too easy if it where.

The game is balanced so that the encounters are not trivial whatever level you play UNLESS you start looking for short cuts.

Tarv you have mutated! Or are you a weredog?

You make a good point, but there is one thing we typically need money for - and in fact it is the one place in this game where you can actually twink - upgrades.

If you want an adept 3 or mastery upgrade, you need to be mega lucky or mega rich. Even adept 1 upgrades are pricey, the good ones (like tellurian recruit - I never see it under 85s, often over a gold).

So unless this person wants to play up artisaning skills and go scholar, he'll need cash for good upgrades. App 2 just doesn't really cut it - App 3 is acceptable but not great. Esp. if you wanna solo, you need good upgrades.

If you wanna make some gold, you need to either work for it and cheat and pay real life cash for it (don't do that please!). It's really hard. If you can however just get up over lvl 20 it gets a little easier. The wholesaler task, for instance, is almost worth it at that point. GL

Heathen, It's Ode, Garfields sidekick and posibly the funniest animal ever.... Well the daftest anyway...

I read somewhere thatthe game is based on App II upto lvl 20 and then App III from then on, they never expected people to have most of thier apells at adept this early in the game.

I can Farm Adept 1, 10-20 drops Evil side since i know where there is a great camp for them, i was averaging 1-2 drops per hour and getting good xp at the same time.

I find that the people who are always spamming that they cannot deal with the mobs unless they have Adept 3 are the people who are trying to take mobs that are outside the level they are supposed to be killing.

I have played all 4 base classes to at least 15 now and i can honestly say that Knowing how to chain HO is far more important than what level your spells are.

My Shammy <just dinged 16 and soloing yellow cons if i choose to> has no App2 let alone Adept and i have no problems holding my own as a soloer or a healer.

I plan to get to 20 and see what spells i am regularly using and pay for the books i need with the 5 gold i have from ONE rare Tier one forage, looking at the market it shouldn't be hard to get what i will need.

A good way to make BIG BUCKS is (if you own collectors edition) to sell your baby dragon.
They sell for 2-5pp on my server. They do not sell over night though, the first I did see had his for sale for 2 weeks before he sold it for 2pp. Put it on 50 gold or so and it should sell over night.
I wouldnt sell mine though. Like him to much. :p
