Any Scout types who have any insight into being able to re-sneak in combat, please see my post of the same subject in the Scout Discussions forum. Any assistance/insight greatly appreciated Smiley: smile

I think Bards got the short end of the stick on this. As a ranger I have two combat arts for this. In fact I seem to have better ones than the rogues which is strange.

I guess you have to do it the hard way. Turn off attack, hit sneak. If you are being hit then you will have to get off a Cheap Shot first to stun the mob. Cancel attack while Cheap Shot is casting.

If you're in a group and your not the tank just stop fighting and sneak.

I'm not sure if ths is what your interested in, but as a Predator/Ranger I currently have Stalk, which puts you in stealthmode to do an stealth attack and Shrouded strike which is a back shot that instantly stealths you afterward (which is pretty darned cool), providing of course you turn off fighting. These are great for setting up stealth based attacks.

I honestly am not sure what other scout types have.

I don't know about the other scout classes, but swashbucklers can NOT do this. I've tried to go into sneak mode during a fight to go pull another creature. I activate my skill, it goes off, but i remain visible and in combat mode until the combat with the creature ends, then i immediately go into stealth mode automatically. Pretty damn gay if you ask me, if the party is fighting i'm stuck outside of stealth (

As far as I know any class can go back back into stealth. You proubably left auto-attack on which will void your stealth. Also having a mob hit you will void stealth.

Many times I will use sneak/hunt/ect to re-stealth in a fight and then use my Shadowblade/Ambush attack again.

This has worked pretty well for me.

At level 22, I have 3 stealth abilites: sneak, stalk, and hunt. I have a hotkey dedicated to a stealth attack combo for each one. I can hit each of the 3 in succession and do some nice damage. quickly, using the stealth attacks in a short amount of time. The hotkeys look like this (for illustration only):

: ; useabiity hunt
: ; toggleautoattack
: ; useability sneak attack

Pair a stealth ability with a stealth attack in each hotkey and the /toggleautoattack command will take you out of combat mode. Make sure you use attacks that are on diffent timers. Using the stealth attack ability will put you back into combat mode so you will be ready for the next hotkey.

As Sotonin says, not all Scout sub-classes can go back into sneak. I have tried and tried and I can tell you that Dirges _CANNOT_ re-sneak. I do "accidently" leave auto-attack on, I make sure that it is off. I am not "targeted" by any mobs, they are all targeted on our tank. I hit my Sneak or Walk Lightly button and the ability fires and the icon appears in my Maintained Spells window, but I _do not_ grey out and go into sneak mode, and when I hit my Ambush button, I get told that I must be in sneak in order to use this attack, even though the icon is still in the Maintained Spells window. Also, unfortunately, even when the combat is over, I do no go into sneak mode as Sotonin has stated he does. I have to hit either my Sneak or Walk Lightly button again after combat in order to enter sneak again. Sucks for Dirges, but then again as I have said before, with our songs and Dual Wield, we are a regular cuisinart and do extreme DPS so it all evens out. Smiley: yippee
