How hard to form groups?Follow

Just wondering how hard it is to get a group in this game, mainly post 20. The reason i left FFXI was having to wait 2 hours to find a group.

You'll easily wait just as long in EQ2. if not, 90% of the time you'll join a group of idiots that get you killed multiple times, racking up debt and making your online time frustrating.

You could say i'm pressimistic. This is just what i've experienced since day1 of EQ2. You may have better luck than this.

I'm currently a 26 ShadowKnight, and I think the longest I have waited at any given time was about 10 minutes.

I rarely get in a group of morons. If I do end up with a group that is not very skilled I will usually just try to help them understand what they are doing wrong. If that fails and they refuse to make an effort I have no problems leaving the group and finding another.

I usually group in Thundering Steppes, Nektulos, or near the docks in Enchanted Lands.

firstly in EQ2 you don't "have" to wait to find a group since you can solo... so your XP flow is as positive as you want it to be..

now WHAT you can solo will vary based on your class.. but it is much better than waiting in FFXi doing quite literally nothing.

I HAVE noticed a difficulty getting groups for the more difficult quest but as of yet it's not anything I haven't been able to put off til later.. do different quest and come back to it in a level or two and solo.

I suppose if you want to do nothing but group you can.. but since leaving FFXI I've really enjoyed being able to solo anytime I get good and ready.

Don't take this the wrong way, for one - I don't know you, nor have I ever grouped with you. I also don't know the make-up of the players on your server. That said-

Perhaps, and I stress perhaps, it isn't the groups you are getting in that are bad. Maybe you just haven't learned your class. From personal experience, I have never had a problem getting a group as the main tank. I've also rarely had a 'bad group' experience. Again, don't take this as a 'you suck' post, but maybe you aren't getting groups because you just haven't developed the skills you need in groups yet. It's nothing to be ashamed of if it is the case, just ask other players what you can do to improve.

If that is not the case, then you may just have had a bad run of luck with groups. But don't just dismiss what I typed here as an insult, you don't even have to respond to it, but if you think that may be the problem, simply ask for some tips or get into some simple groups to practice HOs and different tactics.
